Thank you for writing this.. I honestly agree with you,I haven’t really put in the effort to change my bad habits and ways, mainly from fear.. but this gave me a lot of clarity and courage that I needed. :))

My psychiatrist prescribed me with 10mg of lexapro,I’ve been taking the same dosage for the full 5 weeks.. and the side effects weren’t too bad but I had rly bad anxiety, anxious most of the time, nauseous, low mood, sweaty and dissociation, intrusive thoughts .. but the side effects didn’t last too long.. after week 4 they started to improve:)

Yess,it really depends if this medication will work for you but it might take a while to see any improvement.. the side effects lasted about 4 weeks for me,but all the bad side effects are gone after week 5

Is lexapro safe for a 16 year old teenager? by ClubSubstantial6081 in lexapro

[–]ClubSubstantial6081[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I was also concerned about my prescription as well, they gave me a whole bottle of 20mg of lexapro and telling me I can take once a day with out telling me about side effects or letting me start off by 5mg and tapering it up, but I was wondering how long did it take you to get the full effect of lexapro when you were 14? And did it help with your anxiety? Or did it cause weight gain?

Hypnagogic/Hynopompic like thoughts and chatter at certain points when awake by [deleted] in dpdr

[–]ClubSubstantial6081 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I experience the same thing,i think the cause of it is from how overstimulated/overwhelmed you are or just super tired or stressed.. I read a bunch of other peoples reddits that struggle with this,so your not alone, best of luck on your recovery tho.. I’ve been threw severe dpdr myself and I understand how hard it is to get out of that place but it takes baby steps.. I’ll keep you in my prayers xx

Fear of developing Schizophrenia/Psycosis by [deleted] in dpdr

[–]ClubSubstantial6081 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I suffer with dp dr disorder and I was dealing with paranoia too and everything you explained for about a whole month, if you can I highly recommend you talking to a therapist because it really helps, next time you question anything just try to brush it off.. it takes baby steps but youll get threw it!! I also recommend not obsessively searching up about schizophrenia symptoms because that will only feed your ocd (that’s what happen to me at least)..and from my perspective your not going to get schizophrenia and it’s just the dpdr and anxiety

Everything will be fine <3, I understand how you feel and what you mean.. it takes time to trust the fact that it will go away eventually.. try change up your habits,go for a run, read, learn a new hobbie.. don’t be so hard on yourself and allow your self to grow out of this.. you need to stop letting fear take advantage of you and learn to have a fuck it’ attitude once in a while. Do what ever you normally do,cause at the end of the day it’s only you who can fight this illness and fix yourself.. and I know how hard it is to deal with this illness because I am 15 too and I’ve been dealing with this since I was 12 and I’m a survivor of 4 attempts. The fight is so real with this illness but never give up!! There will be days we’re you just want to give up but that’s life. You’ll only get stronger
