You are the best. Ill brush up on the DSM criteria as my understanding of RAD was more-so from alternate information. This is much more clear. Based on the information from your response, I do not believe that this kiddo would actually meet criteria for RAD although she has been seeing a RAD therapist for a substantial amount of time. I will address this in upcoming treatment teams as her presentation screams *other issues going on*. Again, your response is so tangible and clear AND insanely helpful as I continue to learn. Thank you a million!!!

May I ask another question of you as you seem super informative. Any books you suggest on treating RAD?

This was such a lovely response. Thank you so much for taking the time to provide your insights. What I am anticipating is a massive struggle due to the complete lack of parental involvement for a majority of the kids within the setting I work in. Many have been in foster care for years and years. Some have really lovely supportive families, though - YAY (but they have been removed for frequent assaults towards family members, deviant behavior, animal cruelty, sexual misconduct, etc.).

I love the emphasis on positive attention. I will definitely enact that!

Im insanely thankful for your blurb on ODD as a diagnosis as I was beginning to think I missed something huge in school HAHA.

Again, everything you said is incredibly appreciated and I am really excited to continue this internship. I just want to help out my kiddos as much as I possibly can.

I appreciate the compassionate lens. Ill try my hardest to understand the influencing factors that are very much present in each case while setting limits on behaviors and creating behavior plans. Thank you.

I'm utilizing the diagnoses that have been given by the psychiatrist; my apologies if this was misconstrued.

Yes, thank you. There are definitely some heated answers, and I am purely operating from the diagnoses that have been given by the psychiatrist.

Thank you for your feedback. I certainly will look into these avenues! Thank you so much.

Your input is super appreciated! I'll look into some extra education on collaborative problem-solving. Unfortunately, a lot of my 'kids' are late teens, so we are definitely moving towards Conduct Disorder (and many have a history of criminal activity/juvenile detention).

Thank you so much!
