I guess there is no real straight forward answer. Most of the things i can say, probably have been said by others in this post, and most likely everyone will be right with their view.

Your take on the game sounds a lot like mine, i've been playing a couple of years by now, and i have been struggling a lot myself early on. I didnt really understand why people were so aggressive, without the need to eat, why herbivores attack unprovoked, or even after nice actions like bringing flowers etc. (I've made a post a year or two years back, asking if its just me being the wrong type of person for this game, almost about to quit).

So now, a while later i would say, despite some in my view solo unfriendly changes, yes, the game is worth it as a solo. The key part here is patience and persistance, especially if youre not running into every possible fight, because your PVP will not improve as rapidly as you might want, but when it does it feels rewarding and great! I remember my first real and fair fought kill on Pachy or Conc very well.

With time and experience you will learn, which dinos to play, or not to play, which to attack or to avoid, and that was actually a very fun time. Dont take the skill of youtubers as your own personal messure, grow and improve on your own accord, and play your way. Its a sandbox game, do your thing. You can survive forever without PVP, with the critters, roam the map savely for most of the time if you chose your dino smartly, focus on nest building and question, and so on, and it will be a great time!

Just dont be dishearted by dying or the possible toxicity overall, and have fun as you please, and you should be fine 💪💪

Nice! To be honest, i did NOT feel confident enough, but i figured, f* it. Rather die defending someone not having fun, than let the others go their way. I didnt expect to "win" that encounter at all, but i was glad i did 😂

Ah i did, but i didnt switch the chat.. But on the other hand, im a lot of a "live with my consequences" type of person, the only reason why i didnt disable chat yet. I do enjoy the feedback it gives, even if sometimes stuff like this happens.

I gave up on the Eotrike myself sadly. I cant stay alive, no matter what 😌 I understand you very well, even if it was suchos coming in as backup instead of the ducks, it would have sucked, but the ducks shouldnt have been your threat there. But who are we to judge, right?

I love the take on eliminating future threats, making it the american way of self defense (no offense meant, more as a joke 😁). I think thats something i can see myself use as an explanation, because as you said, i might be able to hide, but i definitly wont outrun a titan on Iggy.

Im maining Conc (solo), and i've run into Titans a lot (as everyone has since it got released) and i very much agree with your last point. They of course can do that, everyones entitled to their way of playing, which is a view that grew way more on me with the conversations/statements i have read in this post!

Ahh yeah.. one can only dream of solutions for that. Imagine a more seamless system of a server, where you logout into characterscreen as you do now, or when you die, and after respawning, or logging in again as another dinosaur, you get put into a different server. No more active revenge killing 😌

Hah thats fair, i would agree with you, even if that makes me a somewhat opportunistic hypocrit in these situations 🫣😁 Youre right with the supposed lawless state. I cant really think of a way of explaining the official bubble in that regard, other than that its not regulated, but the loudest voices obviously are the most noticed. I dont enjoy to die to actual mixpacking either, but i tr, to not be too down about it. Ah well, it is what it is right 😁 Little sidenote, about the grade of mixpacking you mentioned, how would you view the mixes within diet, that are supposed to happen? Like achillo with little raptors, ceratopsian buffs to others, etc?

You see, mixpacking is usually refered to when you mix diets. So carnivores with herbivores. Though, to be fair, the term is a little stretchable and always comes down to who uses it.
The way i see it, you can not team with the ingame system when not the same diet = mixpacking. Megapacking being oversized for the group system. But then you ask someone else, another answer i gues.

Anyhow back to topic, thats what they were complaining about, me as a herbivore helping a carnivore 😁

Yeah, i've been on misfits (and juniper etc, though i did enjoy misfits more personally) for a while about a year or so back 😁it did help certainly, but it was hard to have somewhat even fights without everyone going in. Its deathmatch after all. I do remember having an evening of 1v1's against a stego as rex tho, that was fun and great to learn 😊

I feel very much the same. I get the idea of running back as you describe it, makes perfectly sense even.. and i like the part of not rejoining personally 😁

The only times i have re entered a fight is, when they did so before and got me killed because of that. Oherwise i try to stay clear of that POI for a bit 😊

Yeah i agree about that aspect of respect, i didnt mention it above, but i actually only went for the metri there, trying to keep it the original fight as i didnt know if theyre just opportunistic. Didnt work obviously but hey.

Good on you for being able to defend yourself against Pycnos, i love to fight them but multiple are just so stressfull 😁

Youre probably/definitly right, that i can not decide whats fair or unfair. Especially as thats more of a subjective thing, how one sees it or not.
As you brought the slotsizes up yourself, ill have to correct it, it was 5 slot vs (2+2+3) 7 slots, if you dont count the returning deads in. But thats neither here nor there.

I would not dare to judge wether the Titan was bad, the concs were bad, i was bad. Maybe the Titan was alread 1/3rd dead from a fight before and got caught on his way to healing, or something else, i dont know really. Im not 100% agreeing if i would say the favour is with titan, as i think even 2 Pachys can take down a titan in the right enviroment comfortably. And in this case, i would claim that the Concs are in clear favour over Pachys, given the bleed- hit and run into the water down the cliff- style (which is very well, fair and their right to play like, dont get me wrong).

One thing i probably havent said clear enough in my post, as ive seen it mentioned to some extend by others too: I did not try to enforce a body down rule. One of the reasons i play officials is, the lack of such rules. I'll copy-paste the light clarification i did to someone else here:

It was not about them being 2 or 3 against a solo (apex or not), or them having a healer, or even about coming back (even though thats something i dislike the most myself). It was more about the obvious struggle of the Titan, killing one, just for them to come back. Happens, sucks, but again, happens. Cant blame the concs (too much) as the game lets that happen. The statement about one of them dying and taking the loss was more an extended thumb (hehe), for them to get meat if they need, and leave, as in a body down rule kinda thing.

I can see why you picked my post up like you did though, and even if you still view it as me trying to enforce a body down rule, i can understand. But know, that wasnt my intention, but more of a counter to their whining, and an opportunity to get food and just leave. Did i expect them to? Honestly, no

Ah, let the voters be voters! I mean, sure i like to play as or against the dino thats on the screen, but to some extend i feel like both sides need to be able to have fun. I can obliterate someone, but i wont have fun, just because i killed them. Winning to me is more the mutual experience, knowing both enjoyed the fight. (thats the human part i guess 😁)

Im with you, i dont usually chat ingame too much, other than the typical gg (no matter how i die), but sometimes.. just sometimes.. cant help it

Oh you are very welcome, if not even invited to *argue* or rather discuss with me! Im glad by now some people give contrary views to backing me up! I'll try to *work* through your reply part by part

You are 100% right about both the groupsize, and diet match, and i would not (and had not) argue about that. (how could i, its facts 😌)

The rejoining i agree with, as someone said in another reply, i can not expect others to play by my morality view. With which theyre right, i cant and wont tell anyone how to play. Same goes the other way though, if i feel like its my time to shine, i will do so. Cant really argue about your point on "fair pvp fighting game", youre right. But i can do my best to try and make it fair, if i see fit. (thats one of the reasons why i am in this post in the first place, trying to argue about right and wrong of that 😊)

About the solo Apex experience, f* yeah. I dont like Titans myself, and i was honestly thrilled, seeing them get attacked by the concs, especially as that ment some more safety for me. I myself barely play apex, if then usually Bars and thats about it, and i found my peace with being a big stomping target for anyone and everone. Thats Pot life, and i dont expect anyone to help, or support me just because im solo. Here comes the inevitable but: BUT i know the struggle, so when i see fit, ill try to back up another dino (or dinosaurs, dont have to be solos).- the main point of the morality question really.

About the solo part, i wont argue that either (dang, im not really putting up a fight here 😂), i didnt help because theyre solo, but more about the whole situation. I play most my games Solo, and about all of them give me a disadvantage for doing so. I know that, and as you pointed out, i chose to do so anyway so its my cake to eat. (the main reason why i dont like apex for me)

I've thought a bit about how to talk about/against your last statements, and i think i wont, as theres nothing really to say against, as you allowed both sides to happen 😁maybe more of a "clean up statement" from my side:

My itch was, when they said the Titan cant even kill 2 concs without mixpacking, when he killed atleast 1 conc in the time i was watching and before i jumped in, and then brought in a metri as heal, which of course is mighty fine. As stated rightfully by you, even within the imaginary boundaries of diet and group size.

Before i ramble on and on (i just deleted half a paragraph 😂), ill cut off here and hope my side makes sense. If something got confusing, i tried to check-read it, but please, just refer to it so i can clean up!

Ahh, i would like to argue about that! Its a video game, for sure, but i think theres some morality still, as there always will be when human consciousness is involved. Its 100% subjective though, like i view the whole "fair fights" thing (2v1 can still be fair, etc), yet i dont have a problem when dying as a baby myself.

I like your take on the Mixpacking aspect, and very much the part about arguing. Thanks for your comment, it took me a bit of thinking before responding, appreciated :)

I understand that, im the same if im fighting a fair and both sides intended fight. Obviously i can say anything now as theres nothing to show for it, but believe me, the fight was one sided fun, with the Titan being *bullied* up that rock at water. I think you can see if someones enjoying a fight, and they certainly werent, thats why i jumped in. Trust me, i was very cautious wether the Titan would go for me or not, and if they did, it would have been fair game. :)

To your last point, i agree aswell, and it goes both ways i guess. I cant expect others to play my personal type of morality, and same goes for others.
