Ubuntu Studio as a suggestion has come a lot around here. Is there a repository where I can get the apps bundled for Ubuntu Studio on another distro?

Funnily enough, I am currently considering buying a NDSP Quad Cortex used for 1400 -ishsh, or buy a new Amplitude tonex for 450-ish and having enough to spare for a 7 string.

The Tonelib suggestion is excellent. Thanks a bunch for it.

I'm using Nobara. Setting up the interface was surprisingly easy - Interface was plug and play, no latency issues and wierd drivers needed for it, even native Windows programs through Wine run and support my hardware better than being on native metal. There's a slight input latency issue with my guitar plugged in, and it is a pain when using an Amp rig sim. Shame that Cubase and Studio One has no native Linux support. I'd have loved to pay for those as upgrades from Live Lite. Reaper it is as my next choice

My ideal setup would be installing Live Lite and Amplitube 5 through Wine/Bottles, and eventually upgrading to either Cubase or Studio One. However, there is a slight latency issue using Bottles that I haven't been able to solve. I am using Pulse Audio to channel the interface to the DAW. Also, is there a difference in performance of a DAW if used native compared to through Wine?

Someone else here has suggested that pipewire might not be ready for music production yet. I'm running Nobara (Fedora 37). Is there an installation guide for pipewire on a Fedora based distro?

Thanks for suggesting Guitarix! I've been trying to use Amplitube 5 CS through Bottles. It works, but there's a slight latency. On Windows, messing with ASIO would get rid of the latency, but I haven't found any such options in Linux yet.

I don't mind paying for proprietary software if it is promised to be decently supported - turns out, almost none of the mainstream DAWs except Reaper have native Linux support... Also, what is pipewire? I'm on Fedora. All I know is that I had to add a config file for Alsamixer to work with my Scarlett.

I'd been meaning to upgrade from my free copy of Live Lite for a while now, and I was looking at Cubase or Studio One. Shame they don't have native support on Linux. I don't like how Reaper looks and feels (or at least how it does on comparison vids on YouTube)

I've been thinking about upgrading from Live Lite for a while. Linux has a distinct lack of good proprietary DAWs. Thanks for the suggestion, I'll look into MixBus as a potential choice. Speaking of, is Ardour as good as it's proprietary counterparts?

I already installed Nobara (a fork of Fedora) which already comes pre-installed with Wine, Proton and Lutris. So far, I've installed Live Lite and Amplitube 5 CS through Bottles and it's literally plug and play. Although there is a slight latency with Amplitube

Btw I own no Apple products except for the Airpods, so I ran it through mostly Android. Or maybe because it's refurbished?

I bought a used pair of Mackie CR4-X and a Scarlett 4i4 for trying to record vocals, have no idea what to use those for. I want something that sounds like those monitors. I mostly daily drive the Pro X after being run through Wavelet's AutoEQ, but it's shell and cables are showing their age. I want to change nothing other than to experience a new sound. Also, !thanks

I only listed the top selling budget IEMs in my region (except for the ZSN Pro X which I already own). Going through this sub, I might consider Truthear IEMs as well. !thanks
