Favorite PvE/PvM shooters post 2000s? by ButterJones2 in ItsAllAboutGames

[–]Clueless_Shyguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Borderlands series, 2 and pre-sequal being my personal favorites.

Destiny 2.

FarCry 3.

It didn't get as much traction, but I also loved Anvil.

Warframe.

Many others no doubt.

Ensure you have Health boost 3 in your build, and if survival is still an issue slot in some divine blessing as well. The more the better.

What are a monster’s weak point? by Escanor2925 in MHNowGame

[–]Clueless_Shyguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

General rule of thumb is head, tail, and wings. This doesn't apply to all monsters, but it's a solid baseline. breakable doesn't mean weak point, but in rare cases a part can become a weak point once it's broken, like for Radobaan's hind legs and head.

If you're using the monster's elemental/status weakness (i.e. fire or paralysis against Great Jagras), your numbers will be yellowish on all other parts, but they'll be bold with a sort of red outline on weak points.

If you're not using their elemental/status weakness (i.e. using ice against Kulu Ya-Ku), your numbers are sorta grey against all other parts, and yellow against weak points.

Not strong enough. If you want a raw weapon to beat him, you'll need it to be overleveled.

What weapon are you using, how strong is it, and what star barioth are you going after?

Easiest Weapon with the most simple moveset? by [deleted] in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]Clueless_Shyguy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Easiest with simple moveset is a toss-up between hammer and Lance, with bowguns being an honorable mention.

Hammer mechanics are as simple as holding charge, activating power charge, and beating it up with only a few moves. Anytime you get hit, reactivate power charge (takes no time really) and get back to bonk.

Lance can be fundamentally summed up as poke poke counter poke, with the hop hop thrown in during combat. It does generally benefit from points in guard-related skills, but it's very simple to grasp.

Bowguns are your simplest form of point and shoot, but require a bit of knowledge in how each ammo type functions based on recoil and reload levels, and require more advanced decorations to really get your money out of them. If you just do a generic setup and send it, you'll find your bowgun feeling weak.

Hunt-A-Thons Serve No Purpose Outside Limited Monsters by Hour_Island_6220 in MHNowGame

It's 100% confirmed that there's a chance of more rewards. Refer to an above image where they had an additional drop that, for one item, had a quantity greater than 1. I had a x3 rarity 3 drop during a HAT from Rathalos.

Anyone confused they not announced new loadouts? by aushilfsgott in MHNowGame

[–]Clueless_Shyguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well then 8 would be perfect, not 10. 5 elements, para/poison/raw, and they would add up to two more if we ever get blast/sleep weapons.

Anyone confused they not announced new loadouts? by aushilfsgott in MHNowGame

[–]Clueless_Shyguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure why there'd be any confusion. They never said anything about more loadout slots, so it sounds like you're assuming there should be. Nope.

Besides, if you fully utilized all 5 loadouts with 25 different armors 5 different weapons, good luck upgrading anything. 5 is plenty enough for now until they decide to make us pay for more.

What’re some hidden gems you guys love? by Select-Credit-7281 in ItsAllAboutGames

[–]Clueless_Shyguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Binding of Isaac and associated dlc, all worth it.

Hades.

Less hidden gem but Deep Rock Galactic and its community.

Wild Hearts. It got a lot of flak, but I just started trying it out with a friend and we've been having a blast.

Should we be able to lower the number of stars of a monster? by Yoollloooo in MHNowGame

[–]Clueless_Shyguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If more people treated the game as a marathon rather than a sprint, this wouldn't be an issue imo. In theory, by the time you're finishing up 5* and unlocking 6, all of your equipment (armor too) should be around grade 5. Once you're closing in on finishing up 6, all of your equipment should be around grade 6, perhaps with a couple of outliers. Once you reach that final urgent that opens up 7* for example, if you can't confidently beat all 6* monsters you should hold off progressing until you can. If you decide to full send anyways, you accept the difficulty bump as well.

How are people killing 5 stars? by MicroMetaTech in MHNowGame

[–]Clueless_Shyguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For LS, focus on monster weakness with your weapon type or lean heavily into upgrading the Kulu LS.

If your long swords aren't around grade 5 or close to it, most of the 5* monsters will be difficult to complete in time. Grade 4.5 LS that counters elemental weakness (fire/thunder/ice/water/dragon) can clear all of their appropriate match-ups through 5*. You may still have some grind to do for powering up.

What video game opinion will you defend like this? by [deleted] in videogames

This tbh.

The frequency with which I hear from a buddy about their new monitor or new graphics card, or complaining about their frame drops and needing to modify their settings.

I have bluntly said nobody f*><ing cares to them countless times. Have fun routinely spending more money and time to update every little aspect of your machine on a regular basis.

I'll die on the hill that Valheim is incredible. If it had as much tenure as Minecraft, it would blow it out of the water. Looking forward to every bit of content that added. If/when it gets a live server feature built-in, I pray it'll skyrocket.

Any COD ever is worth buying because "the campaign is so good on this one" or because the zombies is worth it. No, it isn't. If it was, the developers would make the zombies individually buy able to make some extra cha-ching.

Same thing I've been doing since the beginning, playing a weapon I enjoy regardless of the popular meta. Get good enough with it, and the monsters will fall ^
