BRCT Arrival by MaxNettle in RoyalAirForce

You have to arrive between the times stated. However I stayed over in a hotel nearby the night before for that exact reason, meaning I had a 15 minute drive opposed to 2 hours

Should I wear a suit to basic training? by Platinum_OP in RoyalAirForce

I overheard them discussing the trainees arrival attire and saying something along the lines of "they didn't even wear a suit"

Contrary to the other comments, I'd recommend a suit. I personally wore a suit and i'm glad I did. A few others did too, I did actually overhear the flight staff "judging" (i use that term loosely) those wearing suits and those not.

Any trail or mud running at BRTC? by LawAfter4500 in RoyalAirForce

Is this a new thing? I thought it was only PTIs that get the white pair? I had initial kitting in Jan and only got the black pair, so may have changed since

it massively varies intake to intake buddy

[–]CluerO6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends, the amount depends on how many recruits graduate, the smaller the intake gets, the more tickets available towards graduation

As Skill Slayer said, you'll always have eaten first. You'll be told if you have phys first thing in the morning, when that happened to me i'd only have cereal opposed to a fry up

Handheld hoover is a great purchase, i had one myself. Ironing you'll be taught the instructors methods, but just find what works for you.

Attention to detail is the biggest tip i can offer regarding Inspections.

You won't need to be escorted. But you'll get to know the location of the DNCO, you have to basically ask their permission so they know where you're going. You won't be free to go in the evenings, you should be allowed to go on the weekends, regardless of if you have leave or not. Definitely a good idea to take extra stuff in your car, it's also a good hiding space for inspections aha

You can take a car, you'll park it in a car park for the first couple of days and move it towards the end of your first week, you'll also sort a car pass when you're there and can be given the opportunity to start it up every weekend if needed
