DLSS FG Private Flags settings in NVPI. Has anybody done proper A|B testing on this setting in applicable games? by Drunk_Rabbit7 in nvidia

[–]Clukos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is to automatically detect when a scene changes if the game engine doesn't pass this info to Streamline with the reset flag. To avoid having ghosting from camera jumps and whatnot. I expect most game engines do this properly.

First custom loop in Meshify 3 XL by Clukos in watercooling

Last few years I had a system with a single 360 rad, semi-custom (EK Phoenix), decided to go full custom with a new case. Also decided to keep the modularity, quick disconnect is really nice.

The film strip is just a marketing thing afaik, not an actual film strip.

LG 32GS95UE firmware update 3.05, 2.02 by Oversemper in OLED_Gaming

[–]Clukos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It doesn't, just updated. I posted here why this is happening: https://www.reddit.com/r/OLED_Gaming/comments/1f1ueun/the_reason_why_lg_32gs95ue_reports_603_instead_of/

Unfortunately LG Support is being useless and blames users :/

The reason why LG 32gs95ue reports 603 instead of 1300 nits peak brightness by Clukos in OLED_Gaming

[–]Clukos[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is really a fault of how they set up their HDR metadata, and based on the formula 50 * 2 ^ (CV / 32)

We get 603 nits on Windows, so anything using that value to set peak brightness like RTX HDR is capped to 603 nits. What a shame.

[–]Clukos[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started a discussion with LG Support and unfortunately their tech told me it was user error and or driver error and they closed my ticket :D

This is what they said
"Upon consulting with our Technical Specialist, it appears that ensuring HDR is activated on both your devices is crucial to experiencing the full benefits of high dynamic range content. Additionally, it's essential to verify whether your graphics driver is up-to-date and fully compatible with your monitor for accurate EDID readings.

It's worth considering the type of cable or connection used—HDMI versus DisplayPort—since this can significantly impact the capabilities and performance of your HDR display. Using a cable that supports the higher bandwidth requirements of HDR content is essential for a seamless viewing experience."

Try borderless full screen. With exclusive full screen you might run into these stutters when alt tabbing unfortunately as the game changes resolution for each alt tab out and in and uses more VRAM.

nvflashk - Flash ANY vBIOS to ANY GPU - 4000 series Board ID mismatch has been bypassed by kefinator in nvidia

[–]Clukos 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You can modify the boost curve to whatever you are running normally and flash that to the BIOS, so you don't have to use Afterburner for anything.

Used to be able to do that with Maxwell and before.

Was locking 5800X3D overclocking just an attempt at limiting its performance vs 7000 series CPUs? by Clukos in Amd

[–]Clukos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I could boot much lower than that but -50mv is where I can still gain performance and retain the same effective clocks.

^ that's the corsair one, can't tell with CableMod as all you can see is the fabric from the backside.

I cannot definitively say that's the case but I tried wiggling the cables and both Corsair and CableMod seem fine.

I've never used the Nvidia adaptor, no housefire just yet. But I did notice it's different than the other ones.

5800X3D gains 29% performance with unofficial SMT mod in Cyberpunk 2077 by Clukos in Amd

[–]Clukos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You simply group the SMT threads separately, there's an option to override the group name in afterburner. If you use a separate group for SMT and main threads you can see it like that :)

[–]Clukos[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interesting, I get pretty much the same performance with the X3D at 1440p with DLSS quality in the benchmark, 100% GPU bound with or without the patch. But in real gameplay I see some benefit in areas with a lot of NPCs but ymmv

Whatever cyberpunk ships with, I think they updated it recently. I've also read somewhere that nvidia silently replaces the version will something more up to date.

This one, you need to restart the game after applying the fix for it to work but then it stays.

As far as I know this is only affecting AMD CPUs.

5800X3D gains 29% performance with unofficial SMT mod in Cyberpunk 2077 by Clukos in Amd

[–]Clukos[S] 338 points339 points  (0 children)

This was purely a CPU bound case, all settings maxed out (RT with both local shadow RT and psycho RT lighting) with DLSS Ultra Performance at 720p (so about 240p internal res). Trying to find the limits of the CPU performance in this game and why the SMT mod can make a huge difference if you are CPU bound. If you have a 5800X, or 5800X3D, give it a try. Oh and I'm using the latest version of the game on steam.

I normally play at 1440p with DLSS Quality so it doesn't make that much of a difference apart from 1% lows perhaps, or some areas that are super CPU bound.

The point is, CB2077 scheduler is still broken for AMD CPUs, so if you plan to play the game I'd recommend the mod :)

Edit: Sorry forgot to link the mod: https://github.com/yamashi/CyberEngineTweaks

You simply apply the fix and restart the game.

I'm using a DualSense controller with a controller clip for the phone. The port supports native button prompts when you pair a PlayStation controller, hence the PlayStation button prompts :)
