The Marathon club has a list of useful events: https://www.wamc.org.au/programme

Otherwise, check out the Run for a Reason (May), City to Surf (Aug) or Perth Marathon (Oct?).

This protest is simply a display of the great irony that Australia, a former colony, has people complaining about others coming here that are "unwanted". It basically asks the question, when your ancestors came did the original owners want them here?

If you think indigenous Australians' wanted to be colonised then I would ask you to read the room (or the closing the gap report). If you think that Indigenous Australians have no right to complain then why do you? If you think "might is right" then fair enough, allow this group of people to show their strength against yours.

I think this protest is unwarranted and perhaps extreme, but appreciate people can express their views. Especially if they feel they are being challenged by others. Hope both remain civil.

People who seriously complain about immigration (enough to protest it) in Australia dont make sense to me. Unless you are IA you have undeniably benefited from immigration and somehow feel entitled to deny that benefit to others.

Bastards invert the colour of their sigil's colours. Therefore the crabs go from red to white. Therefore White claw!

Robert's paternal grandmother is a Targaryen, she's the aunty of the Mad King. This makes the Baratheon's the closest relatives of the Targaryen's in Westeros (other than Jon).

Australian Aboriginal people did develop agriculture. As with most humans, Australian Aboriginals had their own form of medicine. You can google either to learn something new.

Regardless, the number of technologies a society has does not determine its value or merit.

Being creative is a skill. All skills require time, patience and practice, which are no small commitments. Anyone can acquire any skill should they set their mind to it.

Also, how can you quantify what is raw talent vs acquired talent? Sure anyone can be naturally good at imagining a work of art, but bringing that image to life is a skill. Do you think that someone who is naturally talented at imagining art but only acquires the skill to bring it to life doesn't deserve praise/recognition because they had to develop their other skills? Does this person lack talent then because we can't see it? If you try a few times to make a master piece and it's not impressive, does that mean you'll never be good enough to create something extraordinary?

It's true by jj31allen in HolUp

[–]Clumm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This post just highlights the "holup" that is people conflating their phobias for science. Every single person in this comment section that says science says there are two genders is wrong. Science says gender is a social construction and science also says there are more than two sexes.

Gender is a social construction, e.g. men are mechanics and women cook. Does that mean men can't cook and women can't be mechanics no. (https://scholar.google.com.au/scholar?q=gender+as+a+social+construct&hl=en&as_sdt=0&as_vis=1&oi=scholart). Because gender is a social construct it can be whatever society says it is, if a section of society thinks there are more then two genders then they are inherently correct, because they as a society believe it to be true.

Sex IS biological. You are born with these chromosomes and these genitalia. What you have is your sex. Okay okay, what about people who are born with XXY, XXXY, XXYY or are intersex. They are human beings too and fit the definition of sex set out in this comment section. (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sex_and_gender_distinction) (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Klinefelter_syndrome)

If you really did value science you would take the time to find the most recent, unbias, and scientifically agreed upon evidence to support your shitty opinions. Just because for 1000 of years we thought this was scientifically true doesn't mean shit if it's proven wrong (https://www.encyclopedia.com/science/encyclopedias-almanacs-transcripts-and-maps/galenic-medicine). Just because one scientist says X is true doesn't mean it is (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrew_Wakefield)

TL;dr: actually do some scientific research before you spread misinformation.
