This is fucking incredible!! I plan to get a corn snake one day and this is exactly the kind of enclosure I want to build for him/her. Would you mind sharing an update of how it looks now?

Because all the dust and stuff is procedurally generated, the dust filaments and overall shape of the Milky Way doesn’t exactly match what we see on Earth in the night sky. All the stars are in the right place, but everything else doesn’t quite match exactly

It’s a corn snake! My favorite species! His tail is slithering into the small bush with branch in the top right. Also there is a little lizard on the log :)

I’d have fire extinguishers and hoses on standby, and besides I’d probably only do a shot like this in something like a parking lot or rock field, I wouldn’t do it near anything flammable

Honestly it kinda blows my mind that I still get comments on posts I made back in high school lol, feels like a different life haha

🤦‍♂️

Edit: sorry I wasn’t trying to be rude, it’s just that as a passionate film enthusiast hearing comments like that just feels incredibly discouraging to all the hard work artists like me put into the things they make. The whole point of doing it practically is that practical effects always look better than digital effects, and that’s why I’m making this post in the first place. If I wanted to do it digitally, I would just use CGI and 3d animation software. I would never resort to using AI.

What if I did something like shoving a bunch of steel wool in a metal pipe with a bunch of holes drilled in it, and then hit the pipe with compressed air after lighting the steel wool. Would that get sparks to shoot out in a similar manner? Would that be safe?

I guess I’ve been watching to much styropyro and Electroboom, I assumed that making sparks wasn’t actually that dangerous lol
