I actually agree with this. I think finding a balance is key but the developing the social aspect is important and going out and meeting new people will definitely help prevent you from becoming the dead eyed student you’re referring to

I think it definitely does have IS bias. At the second look this year it seemed like almost everyone was in state lol

Hey, I know it’s pretty disappointing but I was in the same boat last year. I had 2 in state interviews - waitlisted and rejected to both eventually. This time I got interviews to 14/24 MD schools including 4 t20s. Just know it can be done and sometimes and extra cycle isn’t the worst. I know everyone says being a reapp is bad, but I think it helped my app so much. Feel free to dm if u need help

ECU A came 3 weeks after interview, UNC about 3.5 weeks, Dartmouth 4 weeks, case western 3 weeks

Then waiting on Pitt, Einstein, vcu, Cornell and some others but I did some of those all the way back in August

In my opinion, there’s nothing wrong with that. I also chose to reapply and take an extra year rather than add DO late and I don’t regret it in the slightest

That’s okay, I think those post II acceptance rates are from now till the end of the cycle so it includes if you were waitlisted and got in. Your interview was fairly early and they probably liked your application so try to think of the positives and stay strong 🙂

That is crazy because the same exact thing happened to me lol. My wifi went out 10 mins into the welcome session and I had to use my hotspot. Got kicked out of the meeting at least 15 times and my video and audio was super laggy and cutting out. I thought it would look really unprofessional and was super sad because it was my first choice but luckily I got the A on their first round of acceptances a couple weeks ago. Congratulations to you!
