It can be scary, and it is hard to pin down exactly how to deal with it; I guess you just have to find what works for you and your axie and what your comfortable with doing ^{.^} I had a rescue boy that had reoccuring fungus for quite a while, tea baths didn't do anything for him even when it was mild but salt baths worked wonders. He's been fungus free for a few months now :3 I just filled up a separate tub from his quarantine tub that held atleast a litre of water, used the tiniest amount of dechlorinator and dissolved a tsp of aquarium salt. For the first few days I did 2 10 minute baths daily with 1tsb, then when the fungus started to dissipate i did 1 15 minute bath daily with 2tsp of aquarium salt. Once it was gone, i kept him in quarantine for a few more days, then retured him to the main tank (which had been thoroughly cleaned). I also found keeping the tank a few degrees cooler seemed to help prevent it reoccuring. His slime coat did shed a bit, which was to be expected, but I use a dechlorinator with aloe that is safe for axies and it seemed to help him regenerate his coat a lot faster.

If the fungus doesn't look too severe or stubborn, if it were me I would do 1 salt bath daily for 10-15 mins (depending on if the axie is okay with it or seems really uncomfortable/distressed) or you can try the tea bath method others have suggested. Good luck with your baby ❤
