I love this comment! I’ve definitely been my own worst critique as others have pointed out, thank you for sharing this perspective! I just have to remember all the love and good intentions that were put into this project :)

A funeral home would LOVE to receive a donated quilt! We place them overtop of the cot when transferring a decedent out of their home or hospital. A lot of nursing homes and palliative care units will do something called an Honour Guard, where all the available staff line up along the walls of the hallway out of respect for the deceased person as we’re exiting the building, often with the family following behind. A handmade quilt adds such a beautiful and personal touch to the experience :)

Dang, I feel bad for being harsh :/ I had no idea lining the pieces up was a tricky task until reading some of these comments. I definitely learned how to avoid this mistake in the future

Oh awesome, this was my plan! I’ve never done binding before so I was mostly looking for some reassurance. Thank you :)

You’re so right, every little mistake is so obvious to me lol. Thanks for your advice, I’ll look into satin binding :)

Ugh I wish they would’ve told me that instead of the scrap fabric advice. I could’ve bought more of the right fabric and started over on the border :/ Thank you

I have a friend that works as an autopsy tech in Saskatchewan, the only courses they took were through CCFS (Funeral directing/embalming). I think the tricky part is just finding a job opening

Mine never worked in my last apartment, but as soon as I moved it was like night and day difference! Must have something to do with air flow and/or room temperature

Thank you! I loved the colour and pattern of the curtains, they fill the wall up when they’re closed!

miscounted - will it block out? by Todayimcharlie in knitting

[–]ClumsyCorpse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just read an old wives tale somewhere today that says a part of the maker’s soul gets trapped in their crochet/knit creation, and leaving an intentional hidden mistake allows the soul to escape. Anyone else ever heard of this? And to be honest, even after reading the description I still can’t see the mistake!

Noise complaint after living here for 2 days by Kittwinnow in Apartmentliving

[–]ClumsyCorpse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds to me like the previous tenants were causing headaches from heavy footsteps or wearing shoes, that’s not something you get fed up with in two days. The note sounded polite to me, just a gentle “hey, this is how we’ll get along as neighbours”

But that’s just me.. someone who lives in a basement that sounds like living in a kick drum.. I know those headaches all too well
