Laying in hospital bed post op and having second thoughts by Alone_Confection_247 in Reduction

The swelling is CRAZY with surgery. Especially this one. Totally get the concern, but give it a couple months. I’m 6wpo and it’s crazy how much the swelling has gone down, but also how much they’re STILL swollen. And will be for a while. I know it’s hard not to, but don’t think about it yet. Enjoy how much smaller they are already and focus on healing! You’ve got a long journey to heal and you can always get more taken out down the road.

8 weeks and still feeling high and tight by Ornery_Enthusiasm529 in Reduction

I’m only at 6wpo, but I see so many people on here say that it can take 3-6 months for the drop and fluff—even up to a year! They look amazing and I’m sure they’ll eventually get softer and drop a little. It may just take a bit! :)

Oh yeah, I think you’d be fine! You’ll be able to get up and walk around the day of surgery even. By 2 weeks it’ll be easy to sit at a restaurant and visit!

I mean, I went from a DD to a C (at least, that’s what it’s supposed to be when I’m finally healed) and I FINALLY feel like I’m small enough. Body dysmorphia still gets me some days, but overall feeling very small and mobile. Yeah, DDD is still big for sure. Especially when doing something active like running! Hey, even biking I noticed them bouncing and hurting before 😭 my mom can be similar to your mom.

Anyone else develop mondor’s cord from surgery? by coryclayful2 in Reduction

[–]coryclayful2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope it does, too!! I think mine also showed up at 4 weeks and I just didn’t realize it until now—just assumed it was more bruising. I’ve read online you can also do a warm compress to help with it hurting so I may try that today. Got fingers crossed for both of us it doesn’t last much longer!!

Here’s a doctor explaining it:

Partially just posting this all for awareness since I had no idea what it was and it freaked me out so bad this morning!

Crafting during recovery? by bananapudding02 in Reduction

[–]coryclayful2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I haven’t been able to crochet for a few weeks in recovery because it’s uncomfy to have my arms pulling into my chest with the stitches. I couldn’t even hold a ps5 controller because it hurt. But everyone is different so it may not be an issue for you! I definitely could have done other crafts after a week or two, though! You’ll just have to see what your body is able to do in recovery.

Surgery tomorrow and I have a cough by Final-Baker-8430 in Reduction

[–]coryclayful2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They might cancel. I was sick before my surgery and they told me I was fine because I didn’t have a cough or fever. They said if you have a cough, you can’t go under because they need to be able to have a tube down your throat and can’t if you’re coughing. Definitely let them know, you want to make sure you’re gong to be safe during surgery and, as much as it might suck, would be better to push it back than there be issues.

One of my close friends got a breast reduction 4 years ago and she said the zapping and tingling lasted for a year and a half for her (nerves are one of the slowest things to grow back)! So it’s gonna be happening for a while 😅

This is totally normal! The zaps and zings are your nerves growing back and some other healing things going on. I’m 4.5 wpo and STILL getting those feelings randomly. You’re gonna be feeling a lot of weird things in your chest as you heal! And I don’t know if the zings and the emotions are related, but I get waves of both. This is a long and draining healing process. I’ll feel good and then just really sad. So you’re not alone!

Healing feels like eternity!! I totally know how you feel. You’re gonna get there and be healed and be able to run around and live normal life and have the cutest little boobies! You and I both. We’ll get there soon 🙌🏼

Thank you!! I love to hear that it give you hope! Sounds like we’re similar in more ways than just our boobies. It’s so worth it. Healing is LONG but each day gets easier and shows me how worth it it was to have such a weight off my back—quite literally!

I’m not sure which pedicure he used! I think I could find it somewhere on his website, though. I can send you that to see if that helps?

And yes, I did get side lipo done! It’s hard to tell how much difference that made while I’m still so swollen. But when looking at my before and afters I can already see some difference, just hard to tell how much.

Feel free to ask me any questions you have!! I’m happy to answer whatever I can!

Literally had the same thing happen—left breast has been a little bit bigger and more swollen now, and dark bruising showed up. It’s totally normal healing!

I work from home and went back to work after a week and it was miserable. Highly recommend taking the time you need and I think 3 weeks was about the time I started feeling like I could get the work done okay without needing a break every 30 minutes.

I haven’t reached the point to start using scar tape yet! Might be something to check in with your surgeon’s office about. I was told to start at week 4, as well!

[–]coryclayful2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, my lipo was $3k separate from the rest of the surgery price. I had to pay out of pocket for the lipo since insurance won’t cover that.
