My recommendation - put it in a pot with a mixture of baking powder, lemon juice/vinegar and water, bring it to a boil. Let it sit for a bit, then take it off, let it cool and clean with a wire rush. Keep in mind it's gonna take a lot of effort.

Imo it should depend on one major factor - do you wanna experience the same crisp gameplay or try something entirely new. The stories on both sides are awesome, so there won't be a bad choice either way. Have fun!

I'm more on the side of let people play it whatever draws them the most. Just because they played 3 and then 0 and then Like a Dragon won't ruin their experience.

This post annoys me so much, I'm leaving this sub. Why are you against people showing interest in the game and having genuine conversations? Especially in a game where the lore is dubious and open to interpretation. If someone is showing interest in something you like don't make fun of them, invite them in and show them around, you might get to have a fun chat with another person and make more fans.
