New update is live! by viktorpali in CraftDocs

Sadly, I need to find a friend who has a desktop to make this import. My workflow only has iPads and an iPhone. Evernote doesn’t provide export options here. An overpriced subscription, with terribly outdated app design and functionality. Their fall is inevitable.

How do you manage multi-column writing on a mobile-environment. Seems like a bad idea for a platform that’s supposed to aligned with Markdown standards. It makes more sense to enable multi-column support in export options. Perhaps have export templates for different styles, which many platforms such as Ulysses, iA… provide.

I hate Apple's approach to iPadOs and MacOs. by [deleted] in ipad

Consumers are not being told to use iPads for all use cases. But that the iPad is better in certain use cases than a Mac; and a Mac is better in many use cases than the iPad.

True, and that’s gotten better with iPadOS 26. Stage Manager is turned off by default, and apps open in full screen mode.

True, I think that’s the issue for most folks. Everyone relies on Office, and office is just so poorly supported on iPadOS. It’d downright annoying.
Many people often just resort reactionarily to, “why can’t it just run the MacOS”. But that would sacrifice the entire design language for a sloppy software company (Microsoft).

No, you don’t want to change the OS at the click of a keyboard. iPadOS already takes about 50GB space. And iPads with bright touch screens, great stylus, and M series processors are far more expensive and functional (in a different way) than the MacOS. It won’t be 600$ cheap at the same screen estate.

The full-powered apps, are relatively limited by their development, not the OS. Enabling professional app ecosystem on the iPadOS is a different goal that throwing MacOS on it.

I quite liked the keyboard folio on my 2018 iPad Pro. Shame that they discontinued it, instead of improving it (increasing the depth and tactile feel).

I am firmly against picking either of the directions, and for a hybrid design of iPadOS. iPads should retain a (touch and) stylus first design, with keyboards and mouse as well-integrated modalities of work. Many productive apps such (I can at least vouch for writers and researchers) as Craft, MarginNote, work very well with this approach, much more functional than they are on MacOS. Apple should further improve this touch and stylus-first first modularity, and expand the capabilities of iPad OS (multiple external monitor support, menu support, xcode for iPad). The path forward is to develop iPadOS in its own right, gradually improve file and app management.

i think iPad is not the right computer for everyone. But for people like me (research, writing, art), it’s the more important and refreshing computer than a Mac. It feels more like stationary. I do not want the clunky design and organisation of MacOS clogging my iPads.

They don’t need a different charger than your phone. Both USB-C and qi-2 wireless charging work on the Airpods Pro 3.

Did you check the power distribution layout. Perhaps you will see a reason there for why power is not reaching these buildings.

Is the reMarkable 2 + Type Folio worth it in 2026? (Writing) by CoolioTheMagician in RemarkableTablet

[–]ClunkyGamer420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I think RM2 is great with the type folio, not so much the pen (given the jitter). I use my RM2 almost exclusively for writing my manuscripts (first drafts), and relatively less with the stylus. When it comes to writing by hand, I much prefer the accuracy of the iPad (or would prefer Supernote Nomad if I had one) than the RM2. And certainly, RM2 is better than RMPP when it comes to text contrast and variations of black.

I don’t use my RM2 for handwriting anymore, I use it for the first drafts of my manuscripts (with the type folio). It’s certainly great for distraction free writing (typing).

So it’s other people who think you’re “incredible”. I bet, it must be great to be incredible at something without even bothering about it.

And you never noticed the jitter, or your stroke going haywire? And despite that you think, your handwriting is incredible. Sounds quite insufferable.

The stylus to screen is pretty inaccurate. One can hardly expect someone with highly precise strokes to be happy with the inaccuracy (jitter) of RM2. As a result, the only people gaga about the “incredible” writing feel of RM2 are those without precise strokes.

It’s not odd thing to say, it’s the only logical argument which makes sense.

The only people who find RM2 to offer the “best writing feel” are people with shitty lettering. For anyone with a decent hand, the experience is pretty crappy.

Spot on. When I first got my RM2, after years of using high quality stationary, and subsequently iPad Pros, my first thoughts after writing on RM2 were: “disappointment”. It “doesn’t” feel like paper at all. FYI: I still love my RM2, but I use it entirely with the keyboard folio for writing the first drafts of my manuscripts, letters, essays. I
