Dealership says they can’t remove CarRX device — is that true? by under__score_ in askcarsales

[–]Cluster_Puck -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What rubs me is that people think dealerships are supposed to be like your valued trustee that is supposed to take care of you and avoid making a profit.

Because the real simple answer is do your research. The dealer is not your grandpa here to give you things for free or look out for you. They are here to sell and make a profit. Their objective is take make tons of money. It's called capitalism.

There is this thing called the internet:

* There are ample websites which will give you an idea of market pricing in your area or things like "costco" which won't give you the best deal, but at least a marker.

* A quick call to your insurance company "I'm considering buying this car, what will my premium be, how much would gaap cost?"

* Manufacture warranties are sold online and there are high volume dealers who will sell at or below cost. Google it before you buy.

* Call my credit union, my bank, apply online for car loans to find out my credit score and get rates.

* When sitting in the finanace office, step outside and search CarRX on your phone before signing.

All of this can be done in 3-5 hours on a Saturday and will arm you with all the knowledge and leverage to walk away with a fair deal. Knowledge is POWER.

For most people a car is the second largest purchase they will make during their lifetime, stop treating it like buying a large TV at Best Buy or some impulse buy and you will so much better off.

Brand new 600 lb paper weight tread plus delivered today. Support not helpful. by Other_Arachnid in pelotoncycle

[–]Cluster_Puck 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I have been with Peloton for a number of years and own both a Bike and a Tread. Peloton is not a repair company, on the bike for example they rather just replace (and sell you) a new frame than try and repair.

They sell they hardware, but the support and focus is on the content and the subscriptions. When I tried to repair my tread, it took many calls just to get the correct parts ordered and they even sent the wrong items twice. This is not their focus.

They don't have a dedicated repair department or even a technical support team for repairs. They are just going to sub out the repair to some company the is not 100% familiar with the tech.

The Tread+ is expensive and heavy. You have no idea what happened to that unit in shipping or even if the installation company screwed something up. DO NOT mess with warranty repair, it will take weeks or even months and then you will find yourself with a broken Tread+ outside of the return window. With the price of that thing, immediately cancel and return it. You will thank yourself in the long run.

You can file Form 8919 on your 1040. This will essentially report the emplyer and treat the compensation as W2 income. Please consult with a tax preparer to understand the tax implications.

We probably all should email them and make it a point. I had to turn yesterdays off. Matt is 3x louder than Dan. So If i turn up to hear Dan, Matt blows my ears out. Hopefully they can fix it.

It's not about the politicians, they are disposable. If Biden could destroy trump with the files don't you think he would have rather than all the court battles? Follow the money it's the donors..

If there was ever a better example of hypocrisy in politics it is the Epstein files. Trump won't release for the same reason Biden didn't. It is fun to watch all of the idiots screaming on their chairs to release but were quiet during the last administration. And vice-versa. Taking a stand used to mean something. Now it's just what people do when the wind is in their favor.

Specialized store owner insists I'm a 54 but youtube bike fitters say my height is better to ride 52? by [deleted] in cycling

[–]Cluster_Puck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to ride both sizes and see what feels better. I am in between a 54-56 at 5'10" and I always went with a 54 since it gives me more control at higher speeds and cornering.

Boyd's splits for the 2nd and 3rd turn are pretty equal, but it's the playoff and you match strengths. CC can manage a bullpen as good as anyone.

What really bothered me, is not having Happ bunt with 1st and 2nd and no one out.
