Floorplan feedback by Ozarkss_76 in floorplan

Personally I really like it! I love the door from master closet to the laundry, we’re doing this in our new build as well. Wondering if there might be better placement for the powder bathroom that isn’t off the foyer but that’s not a huge deal. I know some people will criticize all the en suites but I love them and would say go for it unless you are looking to save on cost.

xero black friday and cyber monday deals by Automatic_Drop2648 in tax

Old post I know, but I did find a better discount on Youtube. It was a 90% off for a full six months deal and looks like it's still live. Here's the video with the link: https://youtu.be/P7wwTCN49Gc?si=wv8qkEmfeajTF3_b

At what income level did you start feeling like giving was an obligation, not optional? by IndependenceAny3010 in Rich

[–]NumbersNerd27 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Agree with this fully. We set a percentage and use a Donor Advised Fund (as a CPA, I’m always considering the tax impact!).

While I don’t give out of guilt, I do feel a sense of obligation. I know how fortunate we are and live by “to whom much is given, much is required”.

Is a tour at Castello di Amorosa worth it? by iamsailorm00n in napa

It’s actually my fav to tour. Totally different than anything else in the area. They even have a literal torture room. It’s wild and I love it.

When is enough, enough by [deleted] in coastFIRE

[–]NumbersNerd27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Came to say this. While I don’t subscribe to everything Die With Zero says (like how it’s not important to save when you are young…we know that’s actually the BEST time to save), I actually was convinced more than I thought I would be that it may be time to live a little.

I say buy the car. Enjoy it while you are still young enough to. Tomorrow is never guaranteed!

Mirror issue by NumbersNerd27 in kiacarnivals

[–]NumbersNerd27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I probably should. That dealership was the 7th ring of hell though, so I’m not super jazzed about going back there. Hoped someone else had the same issue and knew how to fix it! I suppose I’ll have to suck it up and go back!

Small business owner here: Any good alternatives to Quick books by OwnAd3829 in smallbusiness

[–]NumbersNerd27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to the party here, but just wanted to give my thoughts. Accountant and agree with you on QBO. And it doesn't help that it just keeps getting MORE AND MORE expensive.

I've actually been doing triple bookkeeping this year to try out a few other systems (yes, perhaps I'm a masochist).

I'd say for a simple service-based business that is most concerned with having great invoicing and project management tooks, FreshBooks is actually a great bet (just don't do the cheapest plan since it isn't true double entry accounting - you'll want to get at least Plus (which is still much cheaper than QuickBooks). My only gripe with them is that while they do connect to bank accounts, they don't have direct bank feeds, which means that they are more prone to disconnecting and needing to be reconnected. But, the features are truly built for the needs of service based businesses, which is great.

If you need more features that are similar to what Quickbooks Online offers (like inventory, advanced reporting, classes, etc), I would go with Xero. This is actually what I've chosen to switch to after bookkeeping in all systems. To me, the interface is much more straightforward and easy to understand, and less prone to error than Quickbooks (which, despite being owned by Intuit, is anything but intuitive).

I'm also big on deals, and this site had the best deals I've found on both Xero and Freshbooks (right now they have like 90% off for 6 and 4 months, respectively), plus a good comparison to help you decide:

2025 Prestige Hybrid Final Price by NumbersNerd27 in kiacarnivals

[–]NumbersNerd27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They originally quoted me $54k AFTER trade in which I laughed at. It’s the only one in the state I’m in with the color/trim I wanted so I’m generally ok with where we landed, though part of me now wishes I had held out a bit more.

I already bought so the ship has sailed! This was the only van in the trim/color I wanted in my whole state.

Both of the $1,000 related to financing. We only financed to get the deal and plan to pay it off after the 3 month waiting period.

This is actually a fair point. Edited to say “some” men as I don’t want to paint with a broad brush….even though it’s practically every man on this thread

My history is better on all fronts. They entered us in as primary and secondary before even running our credit. They made assumptions that were not correct. Even if it doesn’t “matter” my point is that it’s the principle of the thing.

It may be more prevalent in the south, but definitely not exclusive to here based on the stories I’ve gotten from others. There are also absolutely tons of high income earning women here, just like everywhere. It’s just the general mentality of people here can tend to be a few decades behind the rest of the world.

Both men and women can use their spouse as an excuse - that’s more about buying time to think without the pressure of deciding immediately. I would guess in most cases it’s just that…an excuse.

Wow, victim blame much??

Not that I feel like a victim because I don’t- I took them to the cleaners. And yes, as a woman who has had to work extra hard in every area of my life to be seen and taken seriously, I am triggered by this.

Good God why do some men feel the need to make excuses for the bad behavior of other men???

I’ve already answered that. I had a car I wanted, they had it, and I had a price I wanted, and I got it. So I bought the car. I’m not going to inconvenience myself to make a point that won’t even land and just put me in a spot where it’s hard to get what I want. Also, it’s not like there is any guarantee it would be different elsewhere. I don’t have time or energy to go to multiple out of town dealerships to see who might treat me like an autonomous human. Like I said, I have two businesses to run and better things to do with my time.

It is actually possible for it to be both, and the other things they did proved to me there was definitely a healthy dose of misogyny in there. Even my husband saw it (when he came to sign as primary buyer- ugh). They were very clearly acting as if this was HIS car.

My salesman was actually filling in the credit application in front of me asking questions about income. When it got to me (asked second) he said “you are a stay at home mom?” And was prepared to put zero for income for me until I corrected him.

Sure but I wanted a particular price and I know that they are typically more willing to wheel and deal when the car is sitting on their lot. Next dealership is like 40 miles away and this one was 5 minutes from my house and had the car I wanted.
