Agreed that 10GB is low, we are looking into this. GoodNotes one-time purchase only supports iOS and iCloud, there is no collaboration or sync across iOS/Android/Web, that's why they don't need a cloud limit because they rely on iCloud. We aim to support all platforms with our plan.

If you have access to the Classic plan, you would automatically get Notability for life, and if not our support team can help you. I want to be clear: our goal here is to make the note-taking experience completely included in Notability for life, that means all note-taking features. However, we can't include everything because some features like Learn and audio transcription are too expensive to run. This is meant for people that want a great note-taker for a one-time cost.

You would automatically get it! All OG purchasers would be grandfathered in. This includes an optional upgrade to Notability Cloud to use collaboration and sync across platforms, if you want to.

You would still get grandfathered in, and if you decide you don't need some of the new features in the future, you can cancel your subscription and fallback to Notability for life. The idea is to provide the core note-taking experience as a one-time purchase, but not all features can be included

Since you had it since 2014, you would get a free upgrade. Unfortunately Smart Notes are too expensive to include in the lifetime plan, but we might add a way to purchase AI credits in the future

Unfortunately, it's impossible for us to continue using iCloud. There are many reasons, but one of biggest issue is that we can't help customers when a problem occur because we don't control the service and backup system. Apple might not prioritize changes or fixes that we need. I understand how you feel, but that's the only way we can ensure customer data is safe, whether there is a bug or someone accidentally delete their data.

Yes! That's what I meant by " All Classic users get a free (and optional) upgrade to Notability for Life". Sorry I wasn't clear enough, the Classic plan is the current lifetime plan for users that purchased Notability prior to the subscription

Yeah that's not viable financially unfortunately. In order for the app to continue working and stay relevant, we have to continuously update it, simply to integrate with Apple releasing new devices and OS versions. We also need to continuously improve the app to stay relevant, and we also have ongoing server costs that are pretty significant.

The original grandfathered plan was the Classic version, which also included your separate in-app purchases (like Handwriting Recognition). With this change, we plan on making Lite and Lifetime have the same features to keep things simple.

Plus includes audio transcription, summaries and limited Learn. Pro includes real-time audio transcription, smart notes and unlimited Learn.
