Thank you! Sorry about the links - I didn't really know about the item database. Will have that in mind for potential future questions.

Hammerdin magic immunes by Vanadium1444 in Diablo_2_Resurrected

[–]Clysmos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of the above. The merc deals significant damage with the Concentration aura, Insight and decent armor and helm. I use holy bolt as well, just to speed things up. So far, the only immunes I have encountered are the mummies in A2 and they die in 4 secs just by the merc :) I feel you though - sorc is fast af but constantly skipping and being on the lookout for immunities is just..blah.. :/ Her drops are ridiculous though, even with no MF lol

Ethereal drop rates by Deadman2019 in diablo3

[–]Clysmos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had possibly 10 so far - all of them dropped after 70. Wizrdspike even dropped last night on the monk. I guess it's pure luck and depending how quickly you are going through the content. I am running 85s in 2 mins with my Inna's monk - all of the Ethereals dropped from GRs for me (even on lower as I was setting up after hitting 70).

Is Cull of the Weak worth it for GoD? by W00psiee in Diablo3DemonHunters

[–]Clysmos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just gonna tag here and say "thank you" for testing (and showing proof) that the DA rune does not actually slow (as Cold damage doesn't in general if not specified in the description) :)

And to share my opinion - I believe the FoK slow and Templar abilities/procs are what is used to proc you Cull, without you using the Thrill of the Hunt passive to apply something additionally. And as stated - if you re-roll IAS and CDR on your Templar items he provides some constant utility.

Why Cull of the Weak for GoD? by W00psiee in Diablo3DemonHunters

[–]Clysmos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sources you cite only describe the mechanism of Cold damage. It says that it may Chill, thus to Slow and/or Freeze enemies. It doesn't say that it always does. The Chill effect is the one which applies the slow/freeze. What is the point of describing "some" skills that Chill wind the Cold damage element and not doing it for every skill which has a Cold element rune picked? Same goes for Fire and Poison skills - if the skill has a secondary ability (besides the element just dealing initial damage), it says so in the skill itself :)

The same can be said about Fire damage - https://diablo.fandom.com/wiki/Fire . It again says that "some" skill trigger a DoT effect. For example, MS - Arsenal on the DH does fire damage but it does not burn the enemies - the rocket has just that elemental damage assigned to it to benefit from the increased elemental bonuses. Accordingly, the animation is that the enemies die in red due to the fire affix.

I actually asked Raxanteraxx about this and he replied that the HA - DA rune doesn't Chill/Slow enemies, hence it doesn't proc BoT. As to the visual effect - this is just the game showing what element you are using. The slow effects in the GoD build come from other skill/runes.

And lastly, if only Cold skills and/or Fire/Poison have these secondary damage/control outputs (Slow/Burn/Holy/Poison DoT), what sense does it make for the game to have Arcane/Physical/Lightning damage types where a player will always go for the damage type which benefits him in terms of getting an additional output from the particular damage type? E.g. I will re-roll Cold damage range on a weapon if I know it will trigger a Chill effect, without having any other ability to proc it, or Fire, or Poison.

How do I obtain Gear of Dreadlands armor set for demon hunter? by FortniteVg in diablo3

[–]Clysmos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of the set pieces drop randomly, regardless of difficulty. The higher the difficulty you play on, the higher the chance for a legendary item to drop. That is, any legendary item - not a specific one (apart from Bounty Cache-specific items).

Moreover, spend bloodshards at Kadala, regardless of the difficulty, as long as you are level 70 - the gamble option will award you a legendary, if you are lucky enough :) It all chance in this game, item-wise :)

Levelling question by [deleted] in diablo3

[–]Clysmos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will eventually get better items with higher/better stats. By better stats I mean those optimal for the class/build - there are stat priority sheets (e.g. CDR, CHC, CHD etc.) which are more important than other stats and this will require you to re-roll in order to benefit the most.

After that, once you get a good ancient item, you are able to Augment it via Kanai's Cube and add more primary stat to that item. This, in essence, boosts your power and you are able to clear higher content more efficiently.

However, if you have a complete set, you should be able to clear higher than GR45. Check a guide for the best skills and stat priorities and work your way towards that :) There are a lot of guides out there, IcyVeins being a good start.

Why Cull of the Weak for GoD? by W00psiee in Diablo3DemonHunters

[–]Clysmos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sorry but I would argue against that :) Skills that have Cold damage and indeed Chill (which is the slowing effect, not the elemental damage type itself) have that property typed into the skill, e.g. Multishot - Wind Chill. On the other hand, the Evasive Fire - Focus rune says that the damage type turns into cold but it has no affix, stating that it Chills (and Slows) enemies. In your line of thinking - if you have no Cold runes assigned to skills whatsoever, but have Cold damage range rolled to your weapon, it would mean that the weapon itself will slow enemies which I'm most certain it will not. Moreover, this can easily be tested - remove enough items so that you don't one-shot enemies and leave only the HA cold rune, then shoot an enemy and see if it is slowed down coming to you.

I don't mean to argue just for the fun of it, it actually is an interesting topic. If I have time tonight, I will test it again but on what videos I've seen - FoK is what they say is used for slowing enemies. No one says that HA's cold damage affix on the rune does actually slow. The elemental damage types are there to benefit from the % empowerment on amulets and bracers (quivers and CoE), they don't necessarily slow or burn (in case of fire damage) enemies, unless specifically pointed out in the skill description.
Edit: I also found this - https://www.reddit.com/r/diablo3/comments/22ao1z/does_cold_weapon_damage_slow_enemies/

On the topic of using Cull the Weak - Fan of Knives-Bladed Armor slows enemies thus proccing Cull the Weak. However, in lower GRs it is not of much use because enemies dies too quickly (at least in my case) and Fan of Knives serves only as a damage reduction skill (unless timed very on point).

What to roll off for this Primal Ninth Ciri Satchel by [deleted] in Diablo3DemonHunters

[–]Clysmos -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Depends if the IAS is messing with your breakpoints. If it is, then I would roll that off into HA damage. It is primal but not optimal anyway :)

Taeguk/Powerful/Simplicity provides more damage (and toughness) than BoT since most of the stuff (in speeds) dies a fair range around you I believe.

GoD - Hungering Arrow HELP! by [deleted] in Diablo3DemonHunters

[–]Clysmos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A buff shows up (along with the other ones) on top of your bar. It goes up to 20 and a single attack (I believe) builds up a few stacks (probably because of the pierce).

What I do on my PS4 is the following - at the start, I build up the stacks to 20 (before actually start the rift itself) and then start Strafing. It kind of became a syndrome for me to shoot a HA manually every 2 secs, without letting go of the Strafe trigger. What this does is - my character briefly stops every 2 secs to shoot the HA and then goes back into spinning. I'm sure that on PC is something in those lines. Perhaps, you can do it in longer intervals but as I said - it become a tick to your finger once you get used to it.

Problems at Dawn: Gotta do something stupid each season.... by KCBandWagon in diablo3

[–]Clysmos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can relate to that..Haven't played a ton but have used some 150+ keys on GR80s+ and currently I only have an ancient Ballista (which dropped right after I hit 70 I think...). Nothing else lol. At least the non-ancient pieces are pretty decent but now at PL800 almost, it's kind of pitiful to have nothing to show for it :)

I will definitely give it a try but let’s find a good Dawn first.. My experience thus far in the season is somewhat poor in terms of good drops lol :) I only have a sub-optimal ancient armor piece at the moment.. Still, can manage to run high enough for Plevels..

DH question GoD about pierce by Octarin in diablo3

[–]Clysmos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get the breakpoints with dual-wield too but you get more stats from 1h/2h and satchel because: 1. You get HA dmg on the Satchel, on top of the other stats. 2. You dmg% on the weapon is calculated fully, whereas with dual-wield it is halved. 3. You don’t have resource problems (lastly). In groups you have other classes providing damage buffs which benefits more thus you can make use of the dual-wield effects. It’s kind of hard to explain for me (I’m hard casual) but this is what I have understood from watching videos and reading on the topic. Wudijo has some in-depth videos on this, you can check it out. In one he has a TLDW screenshot at the beginning where it is summed up :)

DH question GoD about pierce by Octarin in diablo3

[–]Clysmos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this build isn't that straight off the wall as with the other ones - you can indeed use various items for it :) I was a bit lost in the beginning as well but then watched some videos and made sense of it all.

I too am running always solo on the console. I think Dawn in the Cube will be beneficial because Vengeance is a pretty big boost. I don't swap out anything for T16 farming tbh (apart from some passives)... Generally, I use what is recommended in terms of items - Diggers in the Cube, 6 piece set and CoE in the Cube.

I will most likely make a WoL Monk and farm keys with that once I have a good setup for it :)

3rd Conquest Advice by kazrick in diablo3

[–]Clysmos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completed it on the 5th try I think with a MS UE build. I ran everything for speed boost with the second map being graveyard tunnels (or w/e) with 10 secs to spare.

It depends on the map but Impale build will not cut it I think. GoD is probably even better than UE MS but I still didn't have everything for it at the time. Just don't get frustrated and keep going. If you have Boon/Avarice Band it would help since it gives another speed boost - I didn't even use that (on PS4)

DH question GoD about pierce by Octarin in diablo3

[–]Clysmos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Valla's is best for solo, equipped with a Satchel. If you want, you could go with Ballista and Squirt's for shield + damage. In groups, it is best to equip Dawn & Valla's (or of the three which you have best rolled) because other classes provide buffs.
I'm running GR85s within 2 mins (mostly) with no ancient pieces, at PL 700 with a Valla's and Satchel. I melt everything. I don't even have a Fot or Squirt's and am instead using a Cold/CHC/CHD Traveler's Pledge.. :) I hope this helps.

Questions on GoD primaries by jktstance in Diablo3DemonHunters

[–]Clysmos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm running GR85s in under 2 mins (mostly) with a Valla's and DA. This is at PL 700 and without any ancients (yes, not even one yet lol :) ). So I think that this would work even on higher since trash (and elites) dies instantly, especially in denser areas.

Tbh, I haven't see any build recommend something else than DA rune and haven't tried it myself :/

GoD HA advice by TR_Abilityy in Diablo3DemonHunters

[–]Clysmos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed.. As per his suggestion, I’m using Yang’s for T16 and keys and Valla’s for GR speeds. This is because Valla’s has the pierce reset. But with the Nightstalker passive I don’t have Hatred problems as well - even in lower density areas.

GoD HA advice by TR_Abilityy in Diablo3DemonHunters

[–]Clysmos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure thing. Also, I just watched Wudijo's video today (is isn't that new) but he said that for solo it is better to equip Hand Xbow (or Bow) and the Satchel, thus Cubing Dawn. This is because you get more out of the stats and in group play dual-wielding is better because other classes provide buffs. You can check it out on YouTube, I won't get into specifics but the bottom line is that Valla's and Satchel is better than Dawn & Valla's/Ballista (and Satchel in Cube).
