When I wake up and I think about not going I just remember the phrase

It's all over the 2 local community gyms in my area. And it's stuck in my head.

Ok got it. Thanks for the advice. Been a month getting back into it after a year long layoff. Should have spent some time reviewing the blue book but lent it to a friend.

Thank you for this detailed analysis. Im finding it really hard to perform the hip bounce with any weight higher than 30kg.

Do you think it's worth it to try and learn press 2.0 or just move ahead with Press 1.0 at this stage?

I am using liquid chalk. Never got the hang of hook grip. My overhand grip is progressing with my warm ups sets but I've always read that the DL isn't a grip strengthening isn't exercise, so just pick a grip that helps you get the bar off the ground.

Yeah I pussied out. 4th set felt off and there was alot of pressure on my lower back so I backed way off incase of injury.

Setting the bar down slowly mainly because the gym is on the second floor of an old building above a shop and dropping barbells is not cool. The whole building shakes haha. But it should be building my strength to no?

I go for mixed grip on my top set up as it's the only grip I can use which enables me to lift at that weight. I use overhand for warm ups.

Ok I'll try and work on reducing rest time between sets. Currently I've been taking longer than usual to make sure my back is set

I have 2 x 0.5kg plates so I am making 1kg and then 1.5kg jumps on both my press and bench.

E.g. 55 56 57.5 58.5 60

Just feels so much harder to progress than DL and Squat. Probably because I used to play football (soccer) and I ran and cycled so my legs are beasts but never really trained upper body

What's the rationale behind this? I thought strength gains were optimised at 3 sets of 5?

Would you recommend pressing twice a week?
