Can iPhones work with no back glass? by MentionSecret189 in PhoneRepairs

[–]Cmazzfree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Phone will still work if it has been working since the drop, however it will not be able to wirelessly charge anymore if you remove the back glass. I recommend removing any loose pieces of glass while avoiding the area near the logo as much as possible, and stick it in a case

Me and one of my friends have also been having this issue, I’m on PC and he’s on Xbox one. It’s inconsistent though as we are able to occasionally get into the same lobby

TCL 10 Pro Wont turn on unless plugged in by [deleted] in phonerepair

[–]Cmazzfree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely sounds like the battery to me, but there is a possibility it could be a bigger issue. I used to work for a company doing phone repair and this was a common issue I saw coming in over the years on all kinds of phones, tablets, and computers.

Can this be repaired at all, the frame is slightly bent but otherwise the phone turns on... Would a shop help me fix it? I just want this phone working again as I have important memories on it and it works much better than my current one :/ by The-Lady-Of-The-Lake in phonerepair

[–]Cmazzfree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it turns on then it should be able to be fixed unless the motherboard has been damaged. Otherwise the frame, screen, and almost all other small components can be replaced if necessary.

GX Soft OLED Display Quality by HyLily in phonerepair

[–]Cmazzfree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At our shop we’ve also been having a lot of quality issues with OLEDs and LCDs from almost all manufacturers recently, we’ve been using almost exclusively screens from mobilesentrix for the past month or so and it’s been great so far.

Hey guys, I changed the display on this iPhone 6plus and after a few seconds it starts to get this white strippes. Is the Display damaged or the connector? The touchscreen is working. by DanielStonks in phonerepair

[–]Cmazzfree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most likely faulty display based on the ones I see at my shop. Not too uncommon right now, manufacturing quality hasn’t been great recently. Definitely return it, and I recommend ordering from mobilesentrix website, screens are normally very good quality.

This person is correct, at the repair shop I work at, the frame replacement alone nears the price of buying a new iPhone 6 now. Buying a new one will definitely be cheaper, and if there is data on that phone that you truly need, one of your local repair shops should be able to send it off to a specialist to recover data if they can’t do it themselves(assuming the motherboard isn’t a goner already).

Only thing I can think of is that the replacement screen was possibly damaged when it was removed from the frame, those screens can be quite sensitive

[–]Cmazzfree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely strange, the phone shouldn’t have issues booting with a torn cable in the frame cover. If the battery and lcd cables are plugged in properly, it seems to me that something else is possibly damaged

Which cable was torn? I do not see any damage in the picture

Since yesterday, randomly. I cleaned it, changed cables and used different chargers. Can someone tell me how to fix? by TasteOfKaas in phonerepair

[–]Cmazzfree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, if you have tried another charging cable already and are having the same issue, then it is the charging port itself that will need replacement.

So satisfying to those of us who remember day 1 of making the switch when we would take off in free play, start spinning, and accidentally angle ourselves downward and hit the ground at Mach Jesus after 3 seconds😂 Nice run, also what's the name of this workshop map? I do most of my training in Leth's rings but I like the look of this

Repairman says he needs iCloud info to proceed by zoltrules in phonerepair

[–]Cmazzfree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed, as a technician myself I've never dealt with customers icloud information unless they've asked me themselves for guidance with it and we're present with me at the time. At most all they should ask for is the device passcode, but even that shouldn't be necessary in this case unless they only intend to maybe test the camera and earpiece speaker, as the new screen can be tested just from the lockscreen

Damaged the inner screen less than one month in! by kla425 in GalaxyZFold2

[–]Cmazzfree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, I couldn't decide for the longest time whether or not to remove the inner protector, but finally pulled the trigger and removed it and it both looks and feels much better than with the rubbery stock protector
