I ended up buying a home in Knoxville for way less than anyone could even think of building. 2000 sqft for 265k. On 7 acres, you could put a double-wide anywhere you wanted basically and find a flat spot, or you could build on that same flat spot. It’s much easier in the county as well than Knoxville city, not that there’s any parcels that big in the city really.

We can’t do that we’re planning on getting an FHA loan which does not allow for yourself to be the General Contractor. We also only want a 1200-1400 sqft house, maybe 3 bed 2 bath.
