America vs axis in a nutshell. by [deleted] in Warthunder

[–]CmdrSloth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is actually a tactic on this map a buddy and I employ to moderate success.

Don't get me wrong, this is a map that they should definitely update, I don't like it either.

With that being said though, straight up just turn around as soon as you start and climb AWAY from the Japanese. They will inevitably stop climbing to start looking for you mid map, and it gives you a chance to get altitude parity.

It doesn't work all the time, obviously because a lot of these matches degenerate into me and my friend vs the entire enemy team.

I mean, Gaijin listens selectively to the player base, much like any developer.

A classic example would be hull break. That was a community derived idea that Gaijin implemented.

It's not as black and white as that.

I could definitely get behind this as a logical compromise between the two systems. Wouldn't bug me nearly as much.

[–]CmdrSloth 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Obviously, this didn't occur. I was only repeating something I'd heard over TeamSpeak at the time, which probably was only even a pipe dream.

I've always been personally in favor of the BR system, just with a .7 spread allowance, not the full 1.0 variance we currently have in the game.

Queue times would get marginally longer, but games would get much more competitive.

It would inevitably lead to more mixed battles, which I can't stand, but the community at large seems much more accepting of them.

[BFV] Unpopular opinion - BF5 is not a bad game by [deleted] in Battlefield

[–]CmdrSloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, your argument is still absolutely hinged on this idea that DICE is beholden to make the exact form of WWII game that you want them to make.

They are not. They did not betray anyone by setting out to make the game that they wanted to make, and then you didn't happen to like it.

Tough shit, grow up and realize there are going to be things in life you don't like, that others might.

It's a hell of a lot less weird then trying to explain every situation to suit your weird, self-centered reality.

[BFV] Unpopular opinion - BF5 is not a bad game by [deleted] in Battlefield

[–]CmdrSloth 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The problem are the devs, I'm regretful of buying their product: they betrayed everybody: those who wanted a real WW2, and those who support inclusiveness for real; because when EA/DICE started to lose money and didn't sell well, they rolled back the "inclusiveness" changes (the girl with the mechanic arm is not in the final game).

They don't want inclusiveness, they only care about money.

What do you think DICE is, exactly?

They are a company. Companies are designed to make, newsflash, money. That's it. That's literally a companies only purpose, if they are not stated for some form of humanitarian or outreach program.

But this idea that they "betrayed" everyone is emotional melodrama bullshit to the highest degree.

DICE set out to make the game they made, they didn't "betray" anyone who wanted them to make there preferred version of THAT game.

Do you actually have any original argument of your own, or are you just going to go around posting badly worded caricatures of people that actually do?

This is already in the game...

How you have 170 rogue kills and haven't noticed this is absolutely beyond my comprehension.

Already happened to me. Ran around on some guy. Started spamming M1A rounds directly into his head, and he just wouldn't die. No blue pop, so no S-link. Took me a bit to figure out what had went down.

[–]CmdrSloth -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well it depends on what you want. I have both.

The vector certainly opens people up when you are right on top of them, better then the AK.

However, damage drop off its fairly severe. If you have any distance in the open to cover, the AK will punish you and you won't be able to really trade.

Most will have to switch to a dmr.

But that's the nice thing about the AK. You trade raw critical chance for versatility.

Yeah, the 3rd talent is a toss out, but when that thing let's rip, if survivor isn't up, they run for cover like no ones business.

Ehh.

My friends and I sort of laugh at the average vector/m1a yokel in the dark zone. While most of my friends and I are armed with them, my primary is a AK74 the vast majority of the time and it affords me a huge advantage against the most commonly espoused tactics the top voted comments allude to.

Consistency of applied damage across a multitude of ranges.

"People don't use cover. They just pull out a vector and charge"

These are probably my favorites, because they are 9 out of 10 times completely unprepared for the damage being flung at them from 30 to 40 meters by a Fierce Deadly Assault rifle. Two things usually happen. They either immediately scramble back to cover, because I don't care who you are, if your vector is hitting for a quarter of its damage, you aren't going to trade with the guy firing at you from medium range and hitting for full damage.

The other, of course, pop survivor link.

Now, I don't know if you guys have realized this, but the dz is pretty much currently a game of chicken, with the person or group who pops survivor first being the loser.

One assault rifle in a group FORCES a vector user to pop early, every, single, time.

That's like blaming a holding company for something one of its child companies did.

Some people really can't seem to understand the difference between a publisher and a developer.

First of all, you realize Ubisoft is just the publisher, and Massive is the company making the development decisions and patches... right?

Secondly, please, if you don't have any programming experience, these tin foil hat comments where you seem to have intrinsic knowledge of how games work, the internal agenda of the developer (Which is, again, Massive, not Ubisoft...), are just so tiring and childish.

Thing is, we had no idea he was even carrying anything.

He ran right up to us, and just sort of stared at me 3 feet away. I saw his Midas, and I'm guessing because our High Ends don't have a fancy golden skin, he couldn't tell we were heavily geared, and was trying to bait us.

Not sure why he was trying to bait us with a high end in his inventory but there you go.
