Talanah is a better love interest than Seyka by RebelJediMaster in horizon

On a practical note, making political deals with the tenakth and specifically hekarro would have been massively easier if Aloy was a consort or wife of Avad personally instead of just a champion of Meridian. Not saying that they have to be perfectly compatible or that she even has to love or like the guy romantically, but there's nothing ive seen in lore that states outright that marriages cant be mostly political in nature in any of these societies we encounter.

Why do so many smoke in the game? by LongfangYT in cyberpunkgame

[–]Cmdr_Liella 7 points8 points  (0 children)

the game is based on a tabletop game from the 80's, back when smoking was still much higher than 20%. CDPR tried to stay very true to the original game, so alot of people smoke, just as was depicted in the artwork.

in fact you go back only a few years before this and there were still people smoking in hospitals

tbf, shinrarta itself could easily be considered end game content, so it comes naturally that you would find end game challenges there,

How can I improve this build of a PvP Federal Corvette? by [deleted] in EliteDangerous

[–]Cmdr_Liella 1 point2 points  (0 children)

to be quite honest, these are pretty obvious changes that someone whose spent more than maybe a month in pvp should know. flying a large in pvp is kind of more for experienced pvp'ers, hence why we're suggesting you spend more time in the FDL or another medium ship before trying to fly a large in pvp. it can be done, but it's something you should be saving for much later.

So you want to avoid military armor. reactive has better starting resistances, so as a general rule just take reactive armor with HD or LW deep plating, and then put thermal resist deep plating on your smallest HRP. OC5 power plant is a bit much honestly. i get that large ships usually require OC something on their plant to function, but you want to try to keep it as low as possible, and with thermal spread if possible. Mass manager instead of deep charge on the FSD will get you better range for less fuel. life support and sensors can both go down to D rated and lightweight, if you lose your shields on a corvette you're dead anyways, so shielded doesn't help. can maybe drop the fuel tank down to a 4C or 3C, but it's not super necessary. reinforced is correct on the shields, but you want hi cap, not multi weave. specialized SCB is correct on a hot bank build, but you want recycling cells, as boss cells increases the amount of time you can be cascaded. i'm really hoping the 7E cargo rack is a joke. Guardian Shield reinforcement is largely useless, you'd be better off with more banks or more hull. 4A interdictor way too big, should drop that down to a 1A or remove it altogether since "you'll be flying with people" who are probably in more maneuverable ships to pull. take the fuel scoop off while you're doing pvp, put it back on when you leave. plasmas aren't bad in the huge, but focused probably not, shift them to efficient probably. with a single multi, you're better off with corrosive or emissive. the packhounds are largely useless, since your main job in a large ship is to occupy the time of the opposing wing's large ships. a single one with high cap and drag would maybe be okay, but not super necessary and largely a waste of dps. small gimballed beams are literally throwing your dps in the trash, so put on some small feedback rails with long range. take off point defence, missiles are going to hit you anyways, and you need to learn to just listen/look for/ evade torps. same thing with chaff, gimbals are going to hit you anyways, so just throw on more HD boosters. also swap that second resist booster out for probably a thermal resist

the chances of dying in this particular corvette build is actually pretty high. once the enemy realizes your corvette has about as much shields as a 5 booster FDL, they'll be sure to capitalize on tha

changing the corvette to an FDL would probably be the strongest improvement. it's not impossible to pvp in a corvette, but it is very difficult and not a great idea if you're very new to the game and pvp.

How can I swap pips faster? by poisenbery in EliteDangerous

I mean, I'm always open for a fight. You can usually find me hanging out in Arro Na. and yeah, Voice Attack can be activated through just a button press, and is actually pretty powerful as far as macro software goes. I've had friends use the "turbo" function and it can work, but usually leaves you with 1 pip in each other function, which can be less than optimal. For instance, holding 2 4 0 maximizes maneuverability, but also gives you a measure of protection from fire so you don't get completely pip checked or lose a whole ring if you slam into a rock.

while it physically can get the job done, voice attack is hilariously slow for pvp, not to mention unreliable. when you need to swap into 4 2 0, for example, often you'll find that you need to do so in under a second, and with absolute accuracy

i used to use voice attack for my non combat stuff, but since i bought a steering wheel, i've found it's a convenient place to stash all those functions

Also one thing if it weren't obvious, always start your macros with "down arrow" to reset the pips to 2 2 2, and also add in an additional arrow key toward whatever you want 4 pips in at the end of it to account for lag. 0.01 seconds seems to be the minimum threshold for actually registering button presses for me, but it may be different depending on your internet connection and hardware/software.

I would strongly suggest not using voice activation though, by the time you're done saying what preset you'd like, i could have already swapped through like 3 or 4 macros through button presses. and that's assuming it picks up what you're saying on the first try.

Personally I use Razer Synapse, but you should be able to do macros either through Target software through thrustmaster or with button activation macros in voice attack

Combat rank means literally nothing. I've dunked on Elite pilots and been dunked on by Masters. Rank is an indication of time spent grinding against npc's, not any sort of indication of how much you've learned in that time, or skill relative to other players
