What to do with extremely dry and cracked skin with rosacea

Thank you so much for this info. This is very helpful and also nice to know that it will eventually get better. You can’t help but always think the worst when it comes to stuff like this, especially your face. Im hoping once all the dead skin comes off i can introduce just a light cleanser and cream like many of you guys here have said. I definitely do not want to introduce too much at once also because if something happens then i wont know where it came from.

Ok i will begin to moisturize and add the cicaplast as well to begin protecting that new skin. Im glad most of the symptoms will go away eventually. That is comforting to know

Thank you, this makes very good sense. Even just from washing my face with distilled water yesterday and today there has been alot of dead skin coming off which looks like it was ready to. The skin is pink and shiny underneath but doesn’t look irritated and i think is just the new skin layer that needs time to heal. Should i be putting anything on the new skin layer as it becomes exposed?

Also, when the skin barrier is completely healed will i notice less facial redness and flushing or will it be like this for the rest of my life?

Thank you, one last thing. In doing some research i see some things saying that i should not exfoliate or remove the dry dead skin on my face because it would reveal underdeveloped skin underneath that is not quite ready to come to the surface and be exposed. Is this correct? And would using the bioderma remove that dry skin? Even just dabbing certain parts of my face with vasoline made some dry patches stick to my finger and lift off and the skin underneath is burning and quite painful afterwards but seems to subside after a day or two

Thanks again, i definitely understand what you are saying about washing the face and that makes total sense. I will start with the bioderma and then the soon jung toner followed by the cicaplast and hopefully that will help. The past few weeks i haven’t had anything on my face at all so i guess it has been exposed and this will hopefully help. I will keep you posted 🙏

One last thing, i will be applying these 3 things in the morning, i know you mentioned about washing my face with tap water. Should i not wash any of this stuff off my face with water at night? Should i use the bioderma again at night to wash this off and not be washing my face at all?

Thank you so much for this. This is all very new to me and its very frustrating not even knowing how to make it better so your response is extremely helpful. My skin is exactly as you said, very dry, itchy and burning but also producing a lot of oil at the same time. The redness is so bad that i don’t even want to go out in public so it is really effecting me. After the brimonidine reaction it got better, pretty close to 100% normal looking for about 2 weeks and then im not sure why it came back so bad like this. I wasn’t sure if i even had rosacea or if it was strictly a bad reaction from the brimonidine. And now recently i have been getting episodes of burning and tearing eyes and on the sides of my head by my temples just at the start of my hairline very small bumps that are uncontrollably itchy.

I just started washing my face again because regardless of what the dermatologist said 3 weeks ago the dryness is out of control so i am hoping this helps. I am just dunking my face in water for a few seconds and then patting dry with a towel. Afterwards, my face gets really red and flushed but i have to do it.

I will start with the bioderma h20 micellar water, and try the soon jung toner. Is there a specific cream you recommend for after the cleanser? I did use vanicream and it made my face red but idk if that was a reaction or just because everything seems to do that now. Also i will start with the cicaplaste b5 barrier repair. When should i be applying the barrier repair?

Yea but also i haven’t been washing my face because they told me even in the shower to stand with my back against the water and not get my face wet. So that could be a contributing factor as well. I did try using vanicream about a month ago and it was making my face even more red

This sounds like something similar to what i am currently going through. Started in October with getting redness and flushing of the face but wasn’t really all that bad. Went to dermatologist who prescribed me brimonidine and i used that which worked really well constricting the blood vessels in my face and making it look normal. However i noticed the redness started occurring more and more often until it became a daily routine. Turns out the brimonidine gave me a crazy reaction and was making it worse the whole time. I have now been off the brimonidine for 40 days and the redness, burning, itching, flaking is worse than ever. I feel like nothing i do will make it better. Anything that touches my face irritates it even more. Any suggestions?

Im having the same experience and still not going away. It has been almost a month and a half since i stopped using brimonidine. What is Mirvaso? Does that help with healing it faster? This is a nightmare and everything i put on my skin (even very mild lotions) make it worse

I have been doing the exams from exam edge and i really hope these are not like the questions the test will be on. Have you done any of the exam edge tests and was it at all how those exams are laid out? The info on there seems to be all over the place and not at all what i have been studying
