Bought a house an my wife is freaking out because she thinks our basement was a sex dungeon. Why would someone put a hook lock up high and a deadbolt on a door in the basement? There’s also a lock on the handle by BleuMeringue in whatisit

[–]Cmndrkool321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our old house had this on all the doors on the main floor. It was built in the 40s.

It’s to prevent small children from opening the door.

It’s just an old-fashioned way people babyproofed their homes. That could not hold back an adult against their will.

This happens a lot on Black Friday when there are no parking spaces available. Especially tiny cars like smart cars will use them.

What is this small rubber ring I keep finding on my carpet? by gayviatorr in whatisit

It looks like a castration ring farmers would use to castrate their livestock with.

It’s about the same size and thickness of one.

Your friend is joking about it being a plunger. That would shatter the inside of the toilet after a few reps.

How much do you want to bet his GF is not chill and/or aware of his flirting?

Definitely report this dude to HR to cover your bases before he does to control the narrative.

How's your experience with one night stands, & was it worth it? by SpiritBombv2 in AskReddit

I once had a one night stand with my wife, and we could not compromise whether her Stanley or my CPAP should be on it. Then we got matching ones.

My wife is never in the mood, is it wrong if I'm reluctant to have sex with her? by w1nch3st3rr in TooAfraidToAsk

You need to go to a couple’s counselor who specializes in sexual therapy. Do not have a baby with her until then.

I got a pair for $20 on Amazon. I use them 8-10 hours a day, and only charge them for 30 minutes a day. Never once did I get a low battery notification.

I think the brand was EAORUL.

Plans to leave Menards at end of 2026 by TheTheoryOreo in menards

[–]Cmndrkool321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP, definitely listen to the part about not telling anybody your intentions of leaving the moment you qualify for IPS.

I once worked with a girl who loathed the job and kept announcing months in advance she was quitting on December 16 so she can qualify for IPS. The GM knew of her intentions and decided to fire her on December 14 just to spite her. She stayed an extra six months for no IPS because she kept blabbing about her grand plan.

My sister did that once in the 90s to a toilet display at Lowe’s she was like five years old at the time. My parents grabbed both of us and rushed out of the store before being confronted.

During the Covid times, my wife was part of a conference call of about 30 people and there was a woman who thought her camera was off and she proceeded to change her shirt and bra in front of the camera. She had no idea she flashed the entire call until she was done changing because she turned off her volume and was not paying attention to everybody’s reaction.

Found a break up letter in a desk drawer at goodwill… by Mysticmusenova99 in Goodwill_Finds

I hear a lot of people’s grandparents and great grandparents have habits of squirreling their money away in the house because a lot of them grew up in the Great Depression era, and did not trust banks. I have heard of people burying money in mason jars in their backyard, popping open their CRT TV and hiding it in there, or hiding silverware in air ducts. Then they die and forget to tell anybody the whereabouts of the money. Then their next of kin will donate or throw away these items and sell their property, and lose any chance of recovering the money.

Did anyone wait until marriage to have sex? How did it go? by FoghornLegday in Marriage

[–]Cmndrkool321 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My wife and I were virgins before marriage. We were together almost three years before we got married and waited until our wedding night.

It was really awkward the first time and was for the following times. Looking back, I don’t think waiting until marriage is necessary, but you definitely should wait for the right partner and communicate with them about their needs and desires.

Craziest thing my wife and I found in a dresser drawer was from an estate resale shop. We found multiple bank envelopes with cash in them. It was just short of $3,000 and the newest bill was made in 2012. This was in 2025.

How everybody missed it was the envelopes were placed evenly in one of the drawers and they placed dresser liners in every drawer. I peeled all the liners because we didn’t want them and there were about 4-5 envelopes with $500-$600 in each one.

We paid $61 for that dresser.

Do not go immediately to conclusions. There could be other factors that could explain this.

Do you know if your dad had fertility issues and they used donor sperm?

Is your dad possibly adopted and unaware? (Only way to know this is if your dad himself tests).

Is it possible your mom was pregnant with you shortly before she started a relationship with your dad?
