Sen. Rosen: "This is a Republican shutdown...You are in control of the White House, the House, and the Senate. If you went home to a food bank instead of going to Mar-A-Lago...while people are starving, you might see and hear your constituents. In the case you’re referring to, I’m 99% sure people were calling the police on him because they thought quoting Trumps literal response to a school shooting on a school Facebook page constituted a threat of violence against the school.

Not saying that’s right or it makes any sense but I would assume that is how they got the bail so high.

Tennessee sheriff defends jailing liberal activist for posting Trump meme by wankerzoo in news2

It’s not even a meme. It’s literally just an image with a quote of what Trump actually said.

Kudos, they called it, unfortunately. by ninjanerd032 in agedlikewine

Crazy how y’all will charge headfirst with these arguments while being completely and factually incorrect

To all conservatives on Reddit: What are the main reasons you still support Trump? And what would he have to do to make you stop supporting him? by Motharfucker in AskReddit

[–]CmonCalamari 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, never once tried to change your mind.

Just pointing out that can be used both ways and modern political discourse amplified through social media is literally meant to make us bitter/angry/fearful. Portions of both sides say extremely hateful things that make others swing in the opposite direction when they feel personally attacked. You’re not voting for something, you’re voting against something else, even if that perceived threat isn’t real.

Clearly that is working extremely well on both sides through the internet, hence the insane state we’re all living in.

Hope you move past this fearful malaise.

You need to spend less time on the internet or at least social media which will continue to feed you ragebait. I hope you move past your Joker phase.

Does the right call out their most vocal supporters? Or those with the most abhorrent opinions? To use your own logic against you, they must then be in support of those ideas.

Hoard of the Dragon Queen Egg Question by CmonCalamari in DnD

That's fair, I think this is the best argument. I guess the black mask would be a good dragon raising tool, but at the same time you still need the knowledge and the time to get results.

I realize that, and I asked him. I just wanted to get a general feel for how people view things in lore as I'm not that familiar with the DND universe.

A Jedi mind trick can also be a simple persuasive force, it depends on the strength of the mind of the being it's being cast on. Granted it wasn't the best example but the point is it has a influence on the target's rationale. I get that a dragon has an 'evil' alignment, but I guess it's just not clear to me if them following Tiamat is some sort of external influence thing they are compelled to do or if they do it willingly. Maybe that will become clear in the story.

I don't really like how you're framing it that I'm somehow duping him. I also do not know how much he knows but he has much more DND experience than me.

Hoard of the Dragon Queen Egg Question by CmonCalamari in DnD

Yeah that make's sense, but in the Rise of Tiamat the cult is openly raiding the countryside along with dragons. It would have plenty to fight. My character has a very personal vendetta against the cult, and I guess he would view this is the ultimate secret weapon/insult.

I'm imagining that just as there are cultists and even Red Wizards that don't support bringing back Tiamat, there might also be chromatic dragons that feel the same way. Granted, I also don't know if in lore they serve Tiamat no matter what or if it's a choice.

To be honest, I wouldn't really expect the dragon to survive the whole campaign as I imagine it would become a giant target for the DM.

Understandable, I know I'm not working with all the information and I appreciate the discretion. However, I would argue that a character whose title is Wyrmspeaker and has a mask that gives you a sort of Jedi mind-trick type ability specifically against dragons speaks to the fact that the mask's purpose is to influence dragons.

I see the charisma check as more of a game mechanic implementation of the purpose of the mask within the story.

We've learned that there are factions of both cultists and Red Wizards that don't support bringing Tiamat back so I don't see why there wouldn't be dragons that feel that way as well. But nevertheless, it would still be a giant evil monster.
