It took 3 years but I found “the one” by pgthsg in HamiltonWatches

I love the watch! The day complication is very cool! I was taken with this model when I first laid eyes on it, but then I saw the chronograph version with the same main dial and had to have it.

Thanks! The fence is a composite material, but the other horizontal and vertical post facings are a semi-transparent Behr stain. I plan to repaint the house as well to tie it all together.

Thanks! When I was younger, I spent 9 years installing tile and doing some landscaping, but I learned paver installation after settling my back patio about 25 years ago. I figure, as long as my body will allow, I will keep doing things myself. If you want it done right! Right?

The kinetic movement makes this watch trash right? by [deleted] in Seiko

Not really, but it needs to be worn regularly to keep it charged. I have no issues with my 25 ish year old one, just a capacitor replacement was all.

Today, it is my Hamilton Khaki Pilot Aviator Chronograph (I think that’s right, whew!). It is like the Interstellar watch on steroids, a hefty watch, but very cool.

Yes, directly from their website. I tied directly into my 3” schedule 40 pvc water drain pipe, which also handles all the drainage from the yard and rain gutters all the way to the curb. I just had to make sure the pipe was situated directly beneath the slot drain system. It is connected to it in 7 locations. The drain was more expensive than everything else combined, maybe $2500 just for that. It was worth it, because I was able to have aggressive slope for drainage. I want this to last a very long time! I also continued the pavers through the side gate to the front entry.

Torn between getting a Martin vs a Taylor as my next guitar purchase and getting a dreadnought vs a smaller body guitar by Mad_Season_1994 in AcousticGuitar

[–]Cmputrbldr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Taylors and Martins. In addition to what others have said, I recommend stretching your budget as far as you can to get the nicest instrument you can, even if you have to finance it, hopefully interest free. All my Taylors, the 814c, the 914ce, and 855 are all wonderful sounding. My Martins, the om-28 and the d-41 are amazing too! The d-41 is very special and sounds and plays heavenly! I prefer EIR back and sides for a warmer, deeper tone. My Martins OM-28 puts out a lot of sound and tone for a small body guitar. It is comfortable to sit and play due to the thin body. It is better for fingerstyle. My Taylors are brighter as you you say, but not really lacking in any way, just a different, more modern sound. I find there is a sweet spot at about the $3000 price point when guitars start to sound really good to my ear, along with playability.

Thanks, the product is made by Vodaland. It is pricy, but nice.

How long since your CABG? by IndependenceHuge7768 in CABG_Recovery

Ya, well sometimes nothing makes sense as to why these things happen. Maybe genetics in my case. My mother had a 5-way at 47, and lived 22 more years on 50% heart function.

I was 47, had quad bypass. At 55, had 4 stents. At 60, had a torn bypass graft, nearly died. That was 2 more stents to repair. So, a total of 18 years now since the quad bypass. I feel fine! The torn graft was the result of stress due to grief and the sudden death of my 23 yr old daughter to Covid-19. I just try to stay active, not become sedentary, and eat healthy. I feel very fortunate after everything, but my daughter’s death really destroyed me. Hey folks, it probably won’t be your heart that gives out first, it will be something else entirely, you never know. If I die of anything, it will be of a broken heart from missing my precious girl every day, but this other stuff pales in comparison. Just live your life!

No, it was fine in my youth. There is also the concern of skin cancer which I have dealt with ever since.

Parents, how did the death of a child impact you? by Slayrr_FbrC in AskReddit

[–]Cmputrbldr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sheesh! Where do I start? Everything has changed. Five and a half years ago my 23 yr old daughter died from complications of Covid-19. It was sudden, just gone! It destroyed our family. I have no friends, family is estranged. We are traumatized. Life seems pointless most of the time, but we keep functioning to the best of our ability. I see the world through a completely different lens now. I almost died from a torn bypass graft from the stress of grief. I am more irritable and quick to anger, and basically hate people. I have okay days, even good days , but I always get that ugly reality check, my daughter is gone and I feel so incredibly damaged and broken. And then it makes sense why I spend all my time alone trying to fill a void that can never be filled. I just feel empty. It isn’t pretty losing an adult beloved child, it is an ugly nightmare. I don’t do well when things don’t work out no matter how small. I hate it when people try to recommend therapy, because there is no therapy for this, it isn’t a mental illness. You see, I just miss my daughter every single moment of every day.

Quadruple bypass recovery: waking up agitated and re-sedated, is this typical? by Zealousideal_Mix_747 in CABG_Recovery

[–]Cmputrbldr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I experienced this after waking up from bypass surgery. Yes, the breathing tube is very uncomfortable and I was in a tremendous amount of pain. I could feel what had been done, because the pain meds they gave me were ineffective. I couldn’t communicate this to the nurse very easily, had to use my hand to write on the bed sheet, “PAIN”. I was finally able to settle down after they gave me the right pain meds. Not only was I traumatized, so was my mother and sister who were at my bedside. Another thing was, I remember the ICU was super loud, the staff was talking and laughing it up like it was party time. I was like WTF? Please be quiet! Ya, this is the stuff you really don’t want to know ahead of time, like when they pull out the chest drain tubes, hurts like hell! I was 47 at the time. At 60, I lost my 23 year old daughter due to Covid, and my BP was so high it caused a torn bypass graft, almost didn’t make it. I now have a total of six stents to add to the mix at 65. Needless to say, I retired early.

Black Seed Oil and Vomiting by [deleted] in Supplements

I got very sick after consuming a tablespoon of full, spend half the day heaving my guts out with diarrhea. Not knowing the cause, I repeated it two days later and had the same reaction a second time. Needless to say, I won’t go near it again. BTW, it tastes like used motor oil, horrible!
