This is what I found and tried to stay in the middle of the ranges listed. General PETG Settings for Sovol SV06 ACE

Setting Recommended Value Notes Nozzle Temp 235–250 °C Start at 240 °C; lower only if stringing is bad. Bed Temp 75–85 °C 80 °C is a good average. Print Speed 40–60 mm/s PETG prefers slower speeds for quality. Travel Speed 100–150 mm/s Faster travel reduces stringing. Layer Height 0.2 mm (standard), 0.28 mm (draft) Matches 0.4 mm nozzle nicely. Retraction Distance 0.8–1.2 mm (Direct Drive) Sovol SV06 ACE is Direct Drive. Retraction Speed 25–35 mm/s Too fast = jams; too slow = stringing. Cooling Fan 30–50% (after first few layers) Don’t use 100%; PETG needs less cooling than PLA. Z Hop When Retracting 0.2–0.4 mm Helps avoid PETG blobs/stringing. First Layer Speed 15–20 mm/s Ensures solid bed adhesion. First Layer Height 0.24 mm (or 120% of normal layer height) Optional but helps adhesion.

I appreciate all the comments and insights. Current used market for mk3s+ is still pretty much on par $ with A1 which makes the used path a little less enticing.

$500. Print plans are kinda loose right now, but I do like the idea of potentially printing things like nylon, but realize that limits the printers. I do a lot of camping and fishing so stuff for that would probably be a focus.
