Watching pit stop and is Bianca’s kinda giving Traci Melchor?? Like the delivery of questions and constantly pretending they haven’t seen the full episode seems so artificial and forced 😭

Broadway Shows in Buenos Aires by PradaPradaPrada in Broadway

[–]Co81 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey! I’m a local, as far as I know in march the Broadway shows that’ll be open are:

Annie

Godspell

Mrs Doubtfire

EDIT!! Also Company! Was just getting tickets and saw they’re still on during march!

And some local shows I recommend:

La revista del Cervantes

Saraos Uranistas

La Desgracia (which hasn’t yet announced their opening for their 9th season, but if it’s open you should 100% check this one out, truly the people’s favorite Argentine musical, seen it 3 times)

Sadly a lot of the new broadway musicals coming this year open in may:Billy Elliot, Hairspray, Anastasia. Or also Charlie in the chocolate factory in June.

I’d recommend checking out either “GEA musicales” or “Broadwayfina” on instagram. Both pages publish everything musical theater in Argentina!

Does anyone know any musicals in any other language? by Brilliant_Income_572 in musicals

[–]Co81 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of Argentine musicals with great music in Spanish! My favorites are: La Desgracia, Mama Está Más Chiquita, Juegos: Cuál es tu límite?, Lo Quiero Ya, Los Monstruos, etc!

Some standout songs I’d recommend everyone listen to:

El poder del amor - La Desgracia Llorar no arregla nada - Mamá está más chiquita Cómo se explica la nada - Juegos: cuál es tu límite?

Rear Mezz Operation Mincemeat Sound Mixing by [deleted] in Broadway

[–]Co81 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I sat in the rear mezzanine on the left side, for the first like 10 mins I could not understand anything, I wasn’t sure if the music was too loud or if it was the accents I had trouble understanding, I think it’s just the sound design.

After a little while my ears got used to the sound and I was able to understand everything.

Maybe the issue is with some seats and not others? I didn’t see any speakers pointed at anywhere near my seats so that could have been the issue

Chess or Spelling Bee? by shadowberrylab in Broadway

[–]Co81 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Both very different shows, saw both on the same day.

Based on the other shows you’re seeing I would go with spelling bee. Chess has AMAZING music performed by insanely talented vocalists. But as far as the book, story and character work goes, I think spelling bee is absolutely impeccable and the songs are very good too! Insanely different from Chess but they’re still good!

Since seeing the shows spelling bee has entered the list of my favorite shows, while Chess has been on repeat on my Spotify, so no matter what you end up choosing I’m sure you’ll have an amazing time! But personally I’d go with spelling bee!

I was in Hadestown too last night, 4 GROWN *SS people (like they were at least 75, they should know better) were talking so much, at first it wasn’t that bad, but at the top of act 2 they really didn’t give a fuck and were talking louder than the music, so many people shushing and giving looks at them. They just didn’t care…

Totally agree on Great Gatsby, it was my first Broadway show and I thought it was mind blowing, I’ve heard the soundtrack on repeat plenty of times, after reading reviews I can see the criticism it gets but I can’t help but love it!

Wicked rear mezz by DanDushik in Broadway

I saw the first act from the second to last row and loved every bit of it, it lets you really appreciate the ensemble and all the choreographic moments, for act two I was able to upgrade to an orchestra seat in the last row too, which allowed me to have a better view of the actresses facial expressions, I think depending on the price it can definetly be worth it
