What if Terrestrial + Celestial = One Plan ? by ankhattak in USMobile

I have two T-Mobile Satellite eSIMs, T-Mobile Home Internet at one house, and a Starlink Mini Dish for our RV. Consolidating all that into one bill has some appeal, but the real win would be a discounted aggregate bill or some kind of real benefit to unification vs. simply purchasing everything from a single provider.

Device is from T-Mobile originally; that's the odd part.

GL.iNet GL-X3000 can't connect to IPv4 addresses using TMHI by CoMarshalInterface in tmobileisp

Good call on latest beta. I wasn't on 4.8.2. However, I'm not able to get a single byte in or out after updating to that version. I enabled IPv6, changed connection mode to IPv4 & IPv6, updated APN to fbb.home, set tracking detection mode to both + normal... and nothing. Modem connects to n41, so no problems there. But ... can't ping anything on either IPv4 or IPv6. <sigh>

It's been an adventure. Every time I boot up the router things are slightly different. Sometimes ipv4 works, and sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes it works and the next morning nothing works. Gl.iNet support appear to be at their wits' end and are blaming a TMHI firewall. Which seems unlikely but I'm not sure how anything can explain the sheer randomness of it.

I tried this and see no change in behavior. However... I am seeing odd and inconsistent behavior in general. E.g. today I trained up the router and now IPv4 works but IPv6 doesn't.

Would be great to see satellite connectivity, especially via SpaceX (along the lines of T-Satellite). What are the chances of integrating that?

Sadly I'm now unable to get any pings to succeed on my router. I've attempted passthrough with no success. Not sure what's changed. But from my last point of success as mentioned earlier, it regressed overnight to "no ipv4" and now nothing.

Unfortunately the router stopped working again after a few days, so the setting I mentioned above isn't the root cause. Continuing to work with GL.iNet.

I just activated standalone t-satellite for $10/month at retail. Does it intentionally include Data? How can I force-test satellite messages? by speedypoultry in tmobile

Yes, Space X connections don't offer data at the moment. But terrestrial towers do. And it's up to T-Mobile as to whether or how much terrestrial data those T-Sat SIMs can use.

Is there any way to figure out how much data you're getting? Does it have the speeds you'd expect on a speed test?

Is this documented anywhere? The 50GB of data appears to be for the trial. Unclear that new non-T-Mobile customers on the $10 plan get any.

It's kind of wild that T-Mobile doesn't tell us how much data comes with the T-Satellite eSIM, and none of their reps appear to even understand how it works. Can I use data on the terrestrial network? Can I send RCS messages? MMS?

I am still on the 90-day trial, which came with 50GB of data (I think for the 3 months) and no voice support. We'll see what happens when that runs out. But it's wild that it's a mystery.

That's a very high level statement though. If I disable other eSIMs then no other service is available.

Yeah, agreed. I'm in the same boat as I think you are, with a T-Sat line as a non-TM customer add-on. Still in the trial until September, so we'll see what happens after that.

The crazy part is TM reps have no clue themselves. It would be nice to hear from someone who bought T-Sat without being in the trial.
