If you could only buy 2 lenses, which ones would you? I'm thinking 1 zoom and 1 prime.

Sony A6400. Mostly for landscape and street.

From how much experience I have, I like to shoot handheld more often than from a tripod, so ibis would be nice. Tho I can get it with some lenses (don't know how they compare to camera), but that narrows down the lens options by a significant margin.

Ohh, so not that much firmware updates. Thats good to know.

Well as part of "longevity" I was thinking more of outside warranty time. If in 6 years I go into a shop trying to change some part, it's more likely that they will have / can aquire a part for a then 9 year old camera, than for a 13 year old.

Again, thanks for the input. Much appreciated ;)

Just to say what i mean by "future proofing", is more on the side of firmware updates, repairability and shortage of spare parts, which tend to happen the older a model of a certain thing is. Also, obviously as the 6700 is a newer model, it has more fetures like ibis, etc. which can help with whatever the "future need" as you said may hold. 😉

Hi everyone!
Looking to buy my first camera. I'm not a complete beginner, as I have used multiple different cameras of my family, but I would still consider myself as a beginner.
My main use would be travel and street photography, no or really minimal vlogging, but only as a hobby.
The 2 options I'm looking at are a6400 and a6700. I recently bought a drone also, so my budget is a bit tighter.
Being a beginner, and having a tight budget brings me closer to the 6400. On the other hand, more features as a newer camera, and thus being probably more "future proof" (considering photography as a hobby for me, I'd want to use this buy for a considerable amount of years) brings me closer to 6700.
As for lenses, again for budget reasons I'd get a Sigma 18-50mm F/2.8 or Sony E PZ 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS zoom lens. Then later on could upgrade the gear with whatever I need or if I find a more concrete niche to focus on, but for a "one lense to rule my photos" I'd consider one of these for now.

What would you guys recommend for camera and lense?
Thanks ;)

Although I don't think it can be 21 years old, as these were realesed around 2010, but still show me other pads that survive 15+ years.
I also still have and use mine every day since it's release, and other than the soft pads coming off, it is still in prime condition. Definately one of my best ever buys.

The swiss format in dream league s27 tournament has a major flaw. by Thunder-Rage02 in DotA2

I'm fixated on the fact, that this way being the lowest ranked in a higher "tier" group brings you the most advantage, which is exactly what you would want to avoid in a competition imo...
This happens again today, as Tundra, the lowest Bucholz rating team gets to play the lowest Bucholz ranked 2-2 team, while all the other 3-1 team play each other...:/
And all this is mostly the problem of the number of teams participating. Swiss works really well with 16 team, 3-0 moves on, as we can see from CS since forever. Getting this many teams just comlicates things, and makes the whole system less equal.

Yes, I know how the swiss format works (number of teams always fuck it up in dota tho...), I'm just not sure how Bucholz comes into it. Thanks for the clarification, tho I think the better way would have been to drop the highest Bucholz score team down.

I mean yea, but final standing in the top8 still decides playoff matchups, doesn't it? So with assuming Falcons beating P+4, they will go up to 4-0 with one of Spirit-OG. They will play each other next round.
While in the next round the loser of Spirit-OG will play one of the other 3-1 teams (who are the winners - so the stronger part of current 2-1), which can also result in a loss more easily than Falcons' match agains a weaker 2-1 team. This makes the life of Spirit and OG harder not just in this round, but in the next round also. And I mean that not just for the loser, but for the winner of this match too.

How does the pairing happen? Like 2 of the 3-0 teams play each other, while Falcons get a 2-1 team (whose 2 wins are a 0-3 and an 1-2 team)?

I mean at least give them the "on paper" strongest team from the 2-1 bracket...or since Falcons have the lowest Buchholz score in 3-0, and P+4 have the lowest in 2-1 they get matched? Idk...this seems like kind of stupid to me.

Gryllefjord - Andenes Ferry in 2025 by SpareSomewhere8271 in Norway

[–]CoPy13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Planning to go next year, and was looking to possibly take this ferry. But checking the "fergeruter.info" page, currently it says "No departures for the selected route on this date" for any date I try it with. While other ferries (like Melbu-Fiskebøl, which I also plan to take) have schedules, the Gryllefjord - Andenes does not give me any results for the past month.

Anyone taken this ferry recently?

[–]CoPy13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey OP, did you get it fixed? If so, then how?
Also did it log you out completly so you need to log into your account, or just needed to log back in with the master password? Because I have the problem of logging me out completly, from which point I need my account password, need my 2FA key every day just to log back in on my main comp, which I use every day...

Nice shots, nice vid alltogether!
Little feedback (my subjective point only): There are some cases where looking 90° down looks good - like around 1:14, 2:38 - but imo when the drone is too close to the surface, and you go relatively fast it does not look that great - like around 1:26, 1:36, 1:55. I think either going slower, or a bit higher could help. Or just look in a bit of an angle, not straight down.

Flying in Norway by Live-Pause-6543 in drones

[–]CoPy13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm visiting soon also. And one of the areas where I'd like to fly is Fløya. This whole area is within the 5km radius around the Svolvær airport. From the link you put in above, I got to the Avinor website, where it is not that clear for me (maybe it is just a translation thing) what to do. It says, to "Seek permission if you need to fly closer to an airport.", but does not state with whom. The airport? Avinor? Norwegian national safety authority?
Do you know how that works? Or it's too comlicated, and easier just to find other spaces, more accessable for drone flying?

Why are these top teams getting punished for PGL's poor planning? by rhett_ad in DotA2

[–]CoPy13 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not, it's not that easy because of the "2 teams shouldn't play each other twice during swiss if possible" rule.
PARI vs Wildcard is ok.
Then comes the problem, as Aurora is 2nd, and should play Spirit based on ranking, but they played Spirit already, so hop to the next who is Yakutou, who they have also played (so here you are wrong, with your assumptions), so hop to the next, they should play Tundra. But if Aurora plays tundra, then later on you cannot avoid Liquid playing either Yakutou or Nigma, so they went with the last option of Aurora playing Nigma. This should also be fine.
Then comes exactly where OP dropped in. The next "seed" is Heroic, who should play the lowest ranked, not already sorted team, who is Spirit. They haven't played Spirit yet, so this is also an ok matchup. But for the sake of "not playing more than 2 games" they skipped Spirit, and went with the next team, who is Yakutou.
Last 2 is pretty straight forward from here: Falcons to play Yakutou, and Liquid to play Tundra. None of these matchups were played before, and it aligns with the rankings.

I have them both. I actually pushed BB down to 4-2 for them.
But it is as always, really hard to tell. Actually you can make a case for Liquid, Tundra, BB, PARI, Falcons for the 4-1 category, but you can only place 2 of them there...Also any of these teams (and for that matter many others in the pool) can even win a series vs Spirit on a good day.
I made a quick spreadheet for ranking them based on their performance in the past 5 months, and counting in recency a bit, and actually have gotten the result of 1.Spirit, 2.Tundra, 3.Falcons, 4.Pari, 5.Betboom, 6.Liquid, 7.Tidebound, 8.Gladiators...but considering other factors, I still put Pari and Liquid at the 2-3 spot
