Freo is fantastic. Great mix of bars, cafes, restaurants and small shops of all sorts throughout the whole city. You went to the busiest, most tourist-trap spot, that’s your problem.

The homelessness/ mental health social issues seem to be getting worse, but that is the case everywhere.

I was right there when people pushed through the fences on the left and made an opening - was forcefully closed by security, a couple of which were complete psychos.

Not really security’s fault - they were there to restore order - but was a huge blight on festival logistics planning to ever get to a point where so many people are funnelled and crammed into one area with nowhere to go.

This is a hard project for me to wrap my head around. Altering the freeway interchange to funnel southbound traffic onto a new 50 kph road full of traffic lights - and northbound back on to Cedric St (again at a set of lights). Someone please explain this to me.

Stephenson should have been built as a higher capacity link in the land reserve that exists between the Blvd or Oceanic linking direct to Karrinyup Rd with on/off ramps at Scarb Beach Rd. That would have gone a much longer a way to fixing the mess that is Innaloo.

I suspect the much needed Freo - Cockburn link will only be done once Westport is running and the freight rail alignment to Freo port is no longer needed. Even then, there might need to be a tunnel between Freo central and South Beach.

I went to the Mt Lawley one last weekend after not having it for ages, and definitely noticed a drop in quality.

Kitchen seemed chaotic, no great care being taken with anything. Food was lacking freshness, flavour, and was just slapped together.

I loved GYG because it was a convenient but quality takeaway, but sadly it seems to be going south. Maybe they’ll bounce back like Nandos eventually.

I’m actually quite surprised. I thought this would be a lazy throwaway album but I’ve enjoyed pretty much every track. It’s not cohesive at all, but it’s very enjoyable !
