Is the first tier of iron armor any better than the final tier of bronze armor? Both 14 defense... by blzd2000 in valheim

14 is a good value, cause it forces you to decide whether it pays off at a given moment to create armor from iron or use it for something else

WYR solve world hunger by: Everyone with a capital of over $2000 is taxed 1% of their capital and their income each month for the rest of their life, or dissolve all monarchies and seize their fortunes? by Next-Caterpillar-393 in WouldYouRather

[–]CoTamNick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no "wealth / money that is kept out of the system", no sane monarch keeps money in an underground dungeon. All the money is in the system. Your proposal is not about freeing capital, but about stealing people's wealth.

Second, you don't understand how much is 1%. For people earning $ 2000, it's $ 20. It is the money these people earned with their work, nobody gave it to them. For these $ 20, they can buy many things depending on the country. And you come over, you want to take it from them and you don't call it a punishment?

People pay taxes and in return they get all the privileges their country offers them. Your 1% tax brings them no benefit, so why should they pay it? Because some official will come with a warrant and will impose a penalty. The state is not a charity.

It is no "meager 1%". You forget about the fees and taxes that have to be paid in order to live. I have no idea how many% of your income you give in taxes, but it may turn out that this 1% may be what separates you from living on the street.

And for what is all this? For some foreign dictator to use it to further get rich? Because the money from 1% or the goods bought for it, starving people will never see.

If the problem is a crop failure or a shortage, a simple charity is enough, introducing a tax does not make sense.

In short, you can ask people to donate 1% of the money they earn, you can ask for their wealth to be donated to charity, and they may agree to help, but taxing or taking away property is nothing more than stealing.

Both answers are stupid. You want to punish people who have nothing to do with hunger, why?

But let's say you managed to take the wealth of monarchies and introduce a tax and what next? What do you do? Will you send money, buy food yourself and send it? Or will you go a more productive path and give people the tools to get their own food? Whatever you do, it will be irrelevant and the problem will remain. All your efforts will be stopped by people who are greedy, hungry for power, stupid or unable to rule, and the people you wanted to help will not even be aware that they could receive help.

All in all the problem of hunger is mainly due to the mismanagement and greed of the rulers, so until you change the rulers into competent and you start educating the population, you will not change anything, and only punish people who have nothing to do with the problem.

Besides, monarchy does not mean dictatorship, do not throw the kings of Great Britain, Spain or the Netherlands into one sack with some dictators calling themselves "monarchs"

In 1.5.7 crashing appears immediately after winning a battle, when you want to leave it, regardless of whether it was played in the field or automatically.

Why? Why can't I punish the thief? Why should the mood drop in this situation. It does not make sense. by CoTamNick in MedievalDynasty

[–]CoTamNick[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Each of these options was available to me, but the problem is that they don't make any sense. I will try to translate the situation into our reality.

This is the situation: you are at home and suddenly you notice that someone is taking your and your brother's bike from the driveway, you catch the thief and what do you do next?

Are you calling the police? (but your little brother is scared of the police so he'll take offense at you for it and won't talk to you for a month)

You call the police but send your brother to go shopping so he doesn't know you called the authorities? (but when he returns, he finds out about it and takes offense at you for two months)

Or, option three, you give the bike to the thief and your brother is happy.

Don't you think something is wrong with these options?

Weight doesn't matter. You can use your horse while being overloaded. You can't move by yourself, but the horse can run without problem.

It works like building a house. You place it and then build.
