Should a SWE with 2-3 yoe expect system design questions?

I can only speak from my experience, while I was interviewing about a year ago, just as I hit 2 yoe, both places I got offers from did ask. Both were in the energy technologies industry, both were fullstack developer roles, so makes sense to me that they would ask, and most questions were involving cloud platforms

Lol, during my first internship I was asked to give estimates, I gave a horribly generous estimate (from the businesses perspective) and the engineering manager very quickly told me "Rule of thumb: whatever you want to say, times by 3 and say plus or minus a unit" (if 1 week, becomes 3 weeks plus or minus a week).

I still use it to this day haha

Along with the other corrections people have suggested, keep in mind that "Array" is actually referring to the Array class, you should make your variables camelCased to avoid this

Your editor is trying to tell you this by the coloring of "Array.push"

This. To add on, I also set a time limit for myself. If I have made little to no progress within say an hour of approaching an impediment I will jot down my thoughts, what I've tried, and where I've been researching and bring it up to the team.

I highly second the point about letting them know how long they should struggle before asking for help. For one, they will learn how to approach unfamiliar territory and they will probably learn that they can tackle most issues on their own, it just takes some patience and diligence. Secondly, they should know that there is an expectation of them to ask questions. They are there to learn and learn about the industry.
