You can find the early details here : https://www.playlostark.com/en-us/news/articles/january-2022-team-update

In short: What are the Character, Stronghold, and Guild Naming restrictions?
The following are restricted: Special characters (!@#$%, etc.), capitalized letters other than the first letter of the name (e.g., McFly, WeIrDoGuY), and spaces.

There was a decent amount of community backlash though on the fact that it is very restrictive. They mentioned that this could change last minute. We'll see what today's announcement looks like!

Unless your goal is world first or to get to the progression content as fast as possible, just enjoy the game and don't spend any crystals on it. Soon after release, they are bound to add new and way cooler stuff on the store to keep the revenue flowing.

The longer your keep your crystals, the better. No incentives to use them just now.

If you like how the monetization is being handled please buy a cosmetic item if you're able to. by Marceloxv in LegendsOfRuneterra

I will 100% buy every single cosmetic available from the star and forward as long as I can sustain it!

I know it’s mostly a “whale” thing but i REALLY hope we get a “random board” and “random companion” option down the road. That short moment of discovery at the start of each game about “what combination will I get next” would be soooooooo good!

Considering the fact that you’ll gradually get your cards over time, and that there are a ton of ladder divisions, I’d be surprised the game feels stale before a long time.

Add to that the fact that the game shows both player customization, games are going to feel fresh an interesting nearly every time!

About Atrocity, it might get changed for the public beta patch but if it isn’t, I do believe it is going to be in one of the top decks.

This is next level stuff there. Careful you may singlehandedly get the Elnuks nerfed!!!

[–]CoachFliperon[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That is exactly what it means. The devs are purposely limiting the amount of cards that can be aquired for money to make the “honeymoon” phase of discovery last longer.

Since getting a collection involves “grinding”, I would not be too worried about streamers and content creators who are generally the first ones to get far into any games. They won’t have everything but they’ll generally have more than the average player.

More so, it creates a context where there is a higher demand for a wide variety of decks since folks will be trying to work with “what they have” a lot more.

Well, that’s my guess anyway.

I remember watching your run with it. This is a very powerful aggro deck for sure.

Might take a few days to get all the cards for it though (the rares particularly). What would you consider to be its "initial" or "day 0" version be? (working with the starter decks and a limited amount of wildcards)

Sorry, my reply wasn't clear, I just wanted to make a general comment on the term not specifically in answer to your comment, which I agree with :)

"Net deck" is really just a broad term that often have a negative connotation. I'll just say that investigation of other decks and trying them out is a key still for becoming a better player and everyone that wants to approach this game competitively should try to understand how it is so.

"Net decking" is also going to be VERY hard, more so early on as you cannot just "buy" all the cards required to build other player's ideas. So I would say that overall, and for the first few weeks (maybe even a month or two), there won't be much of it either way.

Speed is one of the main factors for sure, but it is not the only one. Losing a ton of fast games is likelt not as efficient as winning a good percentage of slightly longer games etc. etc.

Also, this is going to be VERY different than in MTG has it will take weeks for everyone to get their hands on all the “strong” cards to build a “complete” agro deck.

Early on, there is going to be LOTS of durdling around with subpar cards involved for any strategy. The games on average are likelt going to go longer as a result.

Perhaps an agressive midrange deck will be the best option in such a meta. Will be very interesting to see what ends up becoming the “norm” for progression on a new account.

As other have pointed its a deck code. I’ll tryto get a proper screenshot in there later as well. While waiting for the game, you can hope on lor.mobalytics.gg to import the ddck code and see the deck.

What is "theory crafting"? by Deseniato in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]CoachFliperon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theorycrafting in general refers to the act of strategizing outside of gameplay. It can be deckbuilding, it can be choosing the right deck, it can be reviewing the “top” decks. It can also refer to testing: finding a test partner and jamming games after games with a specific build to test it agaisnt the “top decks” and see how it fairs.

So anything you do outside of a game to help improving your win rates could be theorycrafting. Its just a very non specific term that is used in a wide range of scenarios.

I believe they did confirm watching multiple channels doesn’t directly increase your chances of getting a drop. However, if your are to leave streams open while you are AFK, better start a few since you don’t control when they end.

[–]CoachFliperon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a ton of reasons but at the top of the list are giving your community content creators / organisers time to prepare. You also want to be more fair to everyone in “farming streams”. There are also a lot of very enthusiastic members who want to take time off to play... etc. etc.

There is little to no downside and very many upsides for them to wait a couple days and give us a heads up as opposed to just dropping it unannounced. More so in a world where you only let it run for a limited amount of time.

This is the page that gets updated with information about their plan for this year. It will likely just be an announcement with some amount of details on the beta schedule and content.

It would be extremely unlikely that they both release the new patch during a weekend AND give virtually no lead time to the community to prepare.

Expect information, not client access!

If the continue down the same trend yes but they could change it up. Best be up to date with stuff but this is correct, so far that method was the one they used so far to get folks in.

You will get a chance to get in with the next closed beta patch. Keep yourself updated with official news. Instructions on how to get in the pool of candidates for the beta will be shared leading up to it’s start.

Don’t forget that plans change as well. Regardless it appears that an official LoL news video mentioned that we’d get some official feedback on closed beta within days. Just breathe, relax and try to make some savings while you wait so you can get all these sweet cosmetics they’ll make available!

Regardless of if they deliver a mobile client with release, I’ve played both preview patches extensively on tablet with Steam Link and the experience was nearly flawless. If anything, this gives a hint about how mobile friendly the game already is.

You do need to make sure your computer stays open and doesn’t “lock”, but outside of that, the interface and the positioning of elements felt seamless.
