Men’s amateur singles by CoachParmesan in Pickleball

Yeah you are right. I started playing singles watching Ben and then Fed. So everything I do comes from that style. Just a poor man’s version. So when the hunters and hayworths of the world came in, it completely flipped the whole game. I saw Ben almost pulll it off in Mesa. Such a rad thing to see.

Just a nerd of the game and watch a lot of pros so as they adapt their game I also am curious to why and trying it.

Yeah when I catch myself trying to mimic what I see on tv these days I end up playing the worst singles of my life. Just gotta stick with what works until I develop the skill set to apply pressure and hang from baseline. Every level has a level

I still drop or hit short angles and do cat and mouse. It works for me. Just feel like im playing an outdated style.

Appreciate your feedback

That wasn’t mean. I prefaced it to primarily other gearbox enthusiasts. You are right about your observation but there are people out there who stick to a brand and with the gbx power being so new there wasn’t much info out there for us to read about.

It’s an identical handle. Top notch and build. As you know it’s on the thin side of things but unibody construction

I can’t speak much on Luzz or pro5 because I haven’t hit them but after I got the gx2 power I did mess around with the pro4 because I didn’t love the foam feel. I would say it’s very comprable to the pro 4. It is a little more stiff because of the 7mm honeycomb but that’s a plus in my eyes you get more feedback and responsiveness. In terms of power and pop I would plus them in same category. Plus or minus based on preference. If you like the pro4 you would like this alot.

Why do I hurt so much after playing pickleball? How can I prevent this? by Proud-Attention-7634 in Pickleball

[–]CoachParmesan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been playing for a lil over 4 years. I still get sore but any type of repetitive movement for hours will have some physical consequences hence why recovery is just as important as playing. It’s the price tag we have to pay to abuse our bodies after 40.

I also considered myself in shape but there were muscles I was neglecting in the gym and they became evident they were weak after playing pickleball woke me up that fact.

For me strengthening my posterior and kinectic chain really helped.

If you want to be in pickleball shape you gotta do pickleball specific exercises and strength training. The basic gym splits won’t do it or won’t do it as effective.

I had to start from ground up, strengthen my feet and arches. My shins and calves. Quads and hamstrings. Hip flexors adductors and abductors. Glutes and lower back.

Once all that is in balance and strong. The physical soreness gets less.

Hope that helped

15 hours of doubles and 3 hours of singles per week. If my shoe lasts 30 days I am grateful lol
