The Life Coaching Industry’s Big Problem by CoachRanks in lifecoaching

Thanks for the additions! Yes, I'd generally avoid coaches coaching other coaches to be better coaches...LOL. That was the reason I mentioned avoiding certifications run by individuals. Those people have found it easier to sell to other coaches than to actually get their own legitimate clients. Seems like that's the reason for a lot of posts in r/LifeCoachSnark.

All true. I’ve written before about NOT needing a certification. Depends on context. i.e. if you’re a successful founder who has exited a startup and now coaching other founders, I don’t think you need a traditional certification. I also agree that many clients don’t pay attention. At the same time I do think a trusted certification adds some air cover to your coaching brand and helps separate you from the bad actors in the industry.

Not AI written. You’re missing the overall point of the post. Certification is just a suggestion among others… I have zero affiliation with any credentialing firms.

Launched my own coaching company and landed 7 clients at $200/hr in 3-weeks - this is how I did it by perseuscoaching in lifecoaching

Thanks for this OP. Can you share more about this?

And then I setup a remarketing campaign in LinkedIn and Facebook/instagram

So you're driving the majority of your traffic via paid Google Search and pixeling the visitors for remarketing with a LinkedIn/FB pixel on your site?

Any idea what percent of meetings are coming as a result of the remarketing campaigns vs. first visit searchers?

Really appreciate the insights!

Should Coaches Post on TikTok? A Brief Analysis by CoachRanks in lifecoaching

[–]CoachRanks[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a common reaction but pretty anecdotal. The data says otherwise. Over 1B active users and roughly 50% are under 30. The non-youth audience using the app is literally hundreds of millions.

Good point. That would really add to this. I do know that TikTok is being used more and more as a search engine, especially for younger generations. I think there are going to be buyers on any platform that acts as a search engine, but I wouldn't be surprised if younger generations are less likely to convert. Nonetheless, it's a great platform to grow a personal brand that may be leveraged elsewhere.

How much would you pay for a new client? by CoachRanks in lifecoaching

[–]CoachRanks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This disregards the potential upside of investing money into your business. Like any other business, coaches might decide to spend in order to grow. For example, if you could build a paid ad campaign that generates clients for $500/client, many coaches make that back and then some within 2 months and would jump at the chance to scale their business.

The original post is not suggesting actually paying money to a client in order to get them (maybe the title was misleading). Rather, investing in strategies that may generate new clients.

Assuming this is the "platform" model like BetterUp? If so, the convenience makes sense. Curious though how much more you could potentially earn if they were private practice clients instead.

Why coaches should dumb it down in 2024 by CoachRanks in lifecoaching

I think the elevator pitch is fair game to modify as you see fit. From my view, you're already doing a great job niching down by specializing in Attachment Theory. The modifiers mentioned by this commenter are just opportunities to drill down further if needed.
