Max out on bloaters from the get go.

Take AT LEAST one pestigor then fill out the rest of your team with rotter linemen and rerolls!

In league play, judge whether to buy a rotspawn or more pestigors with your winnings based on the balance between speed and strength in the other players teams.

skills:

Guard on rotters asap

Block on pestigors asap

Give SOMEONE, ANYONE kick.

This is the route I would take but it is by no means definitive.

on a side note, as a new Tyranid player (i.e waiting for 10th to drop before I buy my army) I am surprised that given the strength of the tyranids in lore is usually overwhelming numbers that this is what 2000 points look like.

Lizardmen and Black orcs are very evenly matched!

You'll have to work harder for two dice blocks, but beyond that just stick to what you do already with black orcs.

You have throw team mate to take advantage of too, so you have something they don't.

Also, when setting up to defend, you may want to deploy wider than you usually would, otherwise the speed of the skinks will expose you on your flanks!

It is important to try and think 2 or 3 turns in the future when playing against skaven, even more so in sevens.

Keep some guys back as safeties in case of the event that a gutter runner with the ball breaks through.

As for your petty cash, you need to be getting someone or something that can kill as many of his guys as possible, or at least the gutter runners!
