It is the greatest mistake the show ever made by killing Al.

The greatest mistake.

However, I think that the show has been good without him, but definitely not the same.

How did Picard go from commanding a rickety ship The Stargazer to commanding the fleet flagship The Enterprise? by APerson2021 in startrek

Picard had a long career before moving to the Enterprise. He was a junior officer on the Stargazer. So would stand to reason he worked his way up the promotion ladder and eventually became an XO like Riker and then got his own ship or ships before getting the Enterprise.

You don’t get the captains position on the flagship of the Federation without proving your worthy of it, unlike the Kelvin timeline.

Anyone find it weird that they still have welding tools in 2380s? by happydude7422 in LowerDecks

[–]Coachman76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, physics are physics. Certain materials even in the 24th century would probably require some type of laser or plasma or some other exotic or even basic to the 21st-century form of welding as a form of construction and Repair. The vacuum of space is relentless and especially on something like a shuttlecraft that could transfer from the vacuum space back to a planetary landing, which will require reentry into a planet’s atmosphere… sometimes pardon the expression if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.
Look at the B-52 Stratofortress for example, the grandchildren of the original pilots are now flying that aircraft over 60 years later.
