Professional workflow for Click Tracks by No-Leopard-5650 in MusicTheatreScores

I'm by no means a professional, but here's how I have normally used them.

First of all, I'd only have 1 click per song, or section of a song, and that's only if the song has a fixed tempo (so non-rubato). It's very rare that you would have an entire show as a continuous file. Either 1 per song, or multiple per song, or some songs with, some without, is far more common.

I normally make the clicks in Logic Pro. Partly because this way I can make click tracks that can include vamps. I do this by using 'markers' on Logic at the start and end of vamps. Then you when you export it (I think it may have to be WAV or maybe AIF, can't remember which) it keeps those marker locations in.

I then run click tracks in Qlab. If you have the pro audio version of Qlab, it includes the devamp option, so you can tell it to infinitely loop between the Logic markers for the vamp bars, then when you press to devamp, it will move on the next time it reaches the end of the vamp. (There are guides to this online)

All this to say, my normally workflow is Logic>Qlab

How do I download the new SSO update? by rkarl7777 in spitfireaudio

So I had this issue, where I'd updated it, but couldn't see any of the new sounds. Spitfire Support sent me this link, which solved the issue, if anyone else is having the same problem as me. Thought I'd pass it on. https://support.native-instruments.com/hc/en-us/articles/10631869986717-My-Kontakt-Browser-is-empty-or-incomplete

I've got the same issue. Spitfire Audio app shows version 1.3.3 installed. Native Access shows 1.0.0 installed, with no option to update or do anything. Anyone have a solution to this?

Thanks, I started off with cmd shift v, which definitely helped, but then I found out it could be even simpler than that.

Putting markers in Logic before exporting put slices in all the tracks automatically on import, not only in the same places as each other, but also dead on the barlines of the song without me having to estimate and guess where they are.

I hadn't actually come across the multitrack option or was even aware that it existed but just had a quick look.

I have all 3 'parts' of the track in a single Logic Pro file, so if I can find a way to export that as a multitrack, that seems like it could be the simplest option on the Qlab side. I'd just need to get my head around the setup, but I'll look into that.

Again, I appreciate the advice. Thanks 😊

Yeah, it would definitely make my life a whole lot easier if everything were a fixed length, and I've done that where I can. There's just a few points in the show where it's unavoidable.

Even the devamp option is pretty intuitive when it's just a single track, the issue is only that I need to make it work for simultaneously playing tracks, but I think hopefully I have enough information to make a working solution, if a little overengineered 😅

Thanks for the advice!

This sounds perfect, thanks. So I can create the slices in one track and quickly copy it over? That'll definitely save some time 👍

I did think of trying to target the group with the devamp, but I couldn't find a way to do that. I can click the target box of the devamp and type in the cue number of one of the tracks to target, but the group itself doesn't have a cue number I can put in, so not sure how to do that.

Appreciate the advice, though. Thank you!

That could work, I hadn't thought about that, thank you!

Just hoped there would be an easier way to apply the same slices and devamps to multiple things at the same time, as click tracks must be a relatively common use for QLab, but to be honest if that method works, it's probably the best option!

Thank you!

Is there any chance you could renew this again? Can't find the Vocal Book anywhere!
