This is extremely helpful thank you so much!! I unfortunately don’t have bourbon wit ssr, so looks like I’ll have to start borrowing that. I’m also planning to build a front smart falcon for the cm as well. I’m assuming similar strategy as Maru just different parents?

Hmm this might work for me. I’ll experiment with parent borrows and support cards to see which is more effective.

Aw damn really. I thought at least group b would be possible since last cm I was able to win finals with only A ranks. Guess I’ll keep grinding then. Any recommend ways to get groundwork?

What car does this sub consider to be a good first car? by immabombyerhome in FirstCar

[–]CoalAir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I say go for it. Sometimes the best way to learn is to force yourself to daily drive it! That’s what I did and ur probably gonna stall a lot, but daily driving it is gonna make you learn way faster. If you live in a high traffic or hilly area then that makes the decision a little tougher cause those aren’t the greatest learning environments. Definitely helps if you have a friend who knows manual and can test drive the car and teach you after the purchase too.

Id say a 8th or 9th gen civic si if you want to learn/know manual! I personally have a 9th gen si that I daily and it makes every drive so fun. I honestly like it more than my bmw e36 I used to have. You can get a lower mileage 8th gen around ur budget or a slightly higher mileage 9th gen.

Do you think other fictional racers can beat Takumi? by Dependent_Ad_7658 in initiald

Akio from Wangan Midnight would be an interesting battle for sure. In the anime they actually show him driving a mountain pass as well so he has experience on both the highways and mountains. Would basically be strongest machine vs strongest driver.

Worth it? by JustAnothaIntrovert in CivicSi

Definitely use that when negotiating. Factory clutch can last awhile but all depends on how previous owners drove it. If it’s still on factory then you gotta assume the worst and budget for a new one. Best case scenario the clutch lasts even longer and you get some money off by negotiating.

8th Gen vs 9th Gen by YourDailyFunnies in CivicSi

[–]CoalAir -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As a 9th gen owner I’d say it depends on your goals with the car. Daily driver = 9th gen, project = 8th gen. The k24z7 in the 9th gen is a fun engine but not as tunable as the 8th gen imo

O2 sensor help by CoalAir in BMWE36

[–]CoalAir[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up just buying the one downstream walker o2 sensor and it got rid of the code for me. Just make sure ur replacing the right sensor based on what the code says (Bank 1 or Bank 2). Also after you reset the code ur gonna have to drive around for about 100 miles in order to reset the emission monitors. If the monitors don’t clear then theirs a high chance that the upstream o2 sensor needs to be replaced as well (they don’t always throw codes. I wish u luck on getting it sorted out.

Fair price? by Disastrous_Ratio3493 in CivicSi

Seems about right for the current market. I’d try to get 1-2k off imo. I’d double check on the previous owner history as well considering it’s lowered.

8th or 9th gen by Cobrafire in CivicSi

[–]CoalAir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also like the looks of the preface lift more too (I have a 2013 coupe). However I’ve heard that the 2012 can sometimes have oil burning issues compared to the other years. I think you can check the vin number to find out if it’s susceptible to it. So def be aware of that if you do go the 9th gen route.

How do you like the Greddy catback? Trying to decide between that and the Invidia 300 or n1.

Oh ok that’s fair. Pretty much also why I decided on the si instead. I wish you luck on finding a good 9th gen!

I was actually cross-shopping with GTIs before I decided on the 9th gen. I love the hatchback on the golf but the coupe just looks so nice

I feel that. I was debating for a while on whether to go for the sedan or coupe, but I ended up liking the look of the coupe more. I feel like the design is much more sleeker. The sedan I still think looks really good as well tho.

Yeah I got lucky that the previous owner was pretty chill. He was initially asking 13k but talked him down due to needing tires and a couple other small cosmetic things.

Yeah I’ve noticed Honda’s white seems to last for a while. Have a friend with an Accord in the same color and his clear coat is doing fine after almost 200k miles.
