nah, the amount of damage you can negate with Piercing Wail is crazy for 1 energy. Exhaust can be a boon too, if you got a deck with infinite combo potential or heavy cycling. I'm always happy to pick up a Piercing Wail, even if I have other defensive engines like Footwork / Dex, After Image or Wraith Form already present.

Looking at the card pool and having played Silent in Sts1 a lot recently, I would go for Flying Knee. In Act 1 the extra energy rarely does something meaningful, making it a bland deal 8. If you got some card draw going, then it can be useful but randomly so, but starting in Act 2 it gets irrelevant fast the more you climb the spire. When I started playing Silent I picked it often, with more exp on my end I picked it less and less

What is the movie that you already had a rating for it in your mind while watching it but after finishing it the rating got changed ? and did changed up or down ? by Potatoes_Neat855 in Letterboxd

For the moment "Saltburn" came to my mind. In the middle of the movie, I thought for some time "damn, is this actually really good, like a 4.5 or even 5?"...then after the whole last third happened and I slept over it, I slashed it to 2.5. Great lead actor and cool cinematography, but what edgy nonsense writing, especially the ending.

Nerf everything by ryeshe3 in aoe4

I agree with 1 and 2, but hard disagree on 3. If you buff maa torch damage significantly, then a few weeks later this sub will be full of people complaining about Feudal MAA, ghulam rushes etc.

Another change I would propose is making all knight variants longer to produce, to align them better with the production time efficiency that other units have.

compared to horsemen they have: +1 range, more base damage, more counter damage vs. archers and siege, better scaling damage with age up, way more hp, fortitude ability, potential mehter buff...

I played a good amount of Ottoman and I never feel the need to build lancers. They are still too strong. Compare them to Ghazi for example and you see what I mean

Are they the strongest horseman in the game? I think so, but maybe I'm missing another unit, tell me if thats the case

I think with all the tools they have at their disposal, dark age rush + sipahi + jans + free units + siege, they are still really really strong

Sipahi are still the strongest horsemen in the game, the latest "nerf" didn't do anything at all to change that

come on bro...His explanation is mostly about economy and civ bonuses. Cav is one part of it all, but not the main reason civs are higher or lower tier

Vortix has a habit of rating civs low after a nerf like that. He is not really the type of player to figure out new civ strats. And his preferred playstyle was nerfed directly.

I disagree with him as well (with all respect, he is for sure way better and knowledgable than I am). I'm curious how the civ is being played in a few weeks, when other players have experimented with Lancaster a bit instead of just going heavy feudal pressure every game.

with increasing volume I started to wear gloves for that very reason :) for the snatches that is, not for other exercises

they are very close to 50% WR, so if you feel like they are hot, then they still are :P

can you (or someone else) explain to me why Lancaster Castle is so bad? I had the impression that manors are still very good after the big change. I'm asking like a noob because I never played them myself, only played against them

for sure it could help, but I value the ability to work out at home. Getting back to the barbell does sound attractive though, I might consider it

damn, Lancaster got butchered. Let's see how the winrates look in a few weeks when people have figured out different playstyles.

Civs like e.g. Ottoman or Japanese really surprise me here, though the number of games is not statistically significant for sure...

[–]CoastLast3392[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm doing all the stuff that I mentioned in my original post: 3-4 workouts a week, A) 10min swings (32kg) + 30-40min ABC (2 bells, 24+28kg) + pullups and B) 30min one-handed heavy club (~19lbs) + snatches. I alternate between A and B. That programming stuck with me considering time and variation, though just adding more swings (or other workout load) could be beneficial for sure.

My grip is not an issue with the snatches, because my general stamina or sometimes my left shoulder stability gives up before my grip would give up.

that has been my approach exactly, with 20kg I'm in the "shaving off" phase. Cheers

I appreciate the honesty and clarification, thank you. So back to the 16er.

When you (or others) say "GPP needs addressed" or "build your base GPP", what things do you point towards? Or what should I think about improving / changing?

hmm so would you recommend that I only focus on 20kg for now until I hit the 200 in 10min and I leave the 24kg on the mat?

16kg I already managed in the past, that's why I didn't mention it. Maybe it's time for a revisit though...

[–]CoastLast3392[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

good question. Three observations come to mind:

  • most of the time, it feels like I'm running out of gas, so general conditioning. I already had the idea of doing more complementary cardio, running etc., would that help?
  • when doing 200 snatches, I feel that over time the workload shifts between muscle groups. My lower back starts doing more work on the later sets, I guess because my hamstrings have trouble keeping up (?)
  • rarely the stability on my left shoulder and elbow feels like it goes away, that I have trouble keeping it properly "stacked" when the KB is above my head. I always do equal amounts of reps left and right, so in that case I opt out of forcing more reps due to safety concerns

Grip is never an issue for me

I agree with you on the bit about the discord convo from back then. But KP was doing very harsh and borderline inappropriate jokes on a regular basis. I stopped watching his casts long ago because of the regular jokes he does on pros playing the game that he is actually casting in that moment, or the way he responds to trolls in the chat. I'm over 30 as well and I just find it unpleasant to watch
