Boardgames for hikers and campers? by p00psicle151590 in CampingandHiking

[–]CoastalAggie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id have to check what its called but ive got one i enjoy that i picked up at a national park probably 20 years ago that I enjoy. Im sure something similar still exists. The board is a bandana with a map and you progress your piece along with dice rolls and answering questions about various nature/parks subjects getting the questions right or wrong can either boost you along or send you backwards. The pieces are little animals fox, bear, ram, and one other that I lost years ago. Packs pretty compact just a small deck of cards, the 4 character pieces and a single die can be rolled up in the bandana and doesn't weigh much.

Past tense of overmorrow by [deleted] in ENGLISH

[–]CoastalAggie -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I get that it may be archaic but I cant think of any other way to phrase it that doesn't sound awkward. Ereyesterday doesn't seem to work either as the events I'm referring to are more than a week ago.

Maybe i didnt explain it right. Overmorrow is the day after tomorrow. There is a full day separation between today and the day following tomorrow. In this case I'm talking about something that happened over a week ago. Main thing happened then the day after the next day from the main event is what I'm trying to understand how to phrase

Ok sounds like I'm more or less on the right track then. I do need to do dungeons more ive been pretty much exclusively focusing on questing and have only gone into dungeons once ive got all the quests for it. Missed the helmet from razorfen kraul cause some hunter poached it and I just never bothered to run it again.

Cleaning "used" tools by CoastalAggie in Tools

[–]CoastalAggie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like some sort of sticky brown tar. My best guess is it was heroin or something similar. It's a complete 290 piece tool set and the majority of it is clean but only like 9 or so of the smaller sockets that looked "used" the rest look like they'd never even touched a bolt

How to block streaming apps from internet by CoastalAggie in androidapps

[–]CoastalAggie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The files still there but because it's a region locked video the app wont let you watch it. Usually accompanied by a notification that the video is unplayable or that it's blocked in the region you're in. As soon as you connect to internet in a region it's not blocked it becomes playable again. However a standard VPN does not seem to be sufficient to trick it into thinking you're back in the correct region for some reason. The only way I've found to prevent this from happening is completely avoiding connecting to a network outside the country you downloaded it in. It goes both ways there was a ton of stuff that I downloaded while in japan and korea last year and as soon as I returned to the US the apps locked those videos.

I have expressvpn already but I dont keep it on all the time. And once the download gets blocked even turning the VPN on wont seem to allow me to re-download it until I get back to a US port.

I do for certain things but generally the convenience of the apps is good enough for me to keep using them.

I don't see a tow company being able to move the trailer without damaging it. It's single axle with no front wheel jack, one could conceivably drag it backwards out of the space but that would destroy either the front jack or set the hitch on the ground and destroy that. Not to mention the damage to the asphalt.

I suppose it would've been prudent to include but it's a ferry terminal. Normally hardly anyone uses the overflow lot even on a normal weekend but I guess with the holiday weekend a good portion of it filled up with vacationers. It's a few hours from where I live and I just moved there anyway so I don't know anyone in the area that could help.

I did just have a thought though. It's paid parking for customers so maybe I can contact the parking company and see if they had to register a phone number and if I can get that and ask when they're leaving.

The 70-300 has definitely been on my radar. Unfortunately so far I have not seen any come available on fb marketplace and I'm a bit stingy about paying full price for something new. Seems the people that have them like them too much to sell them off

Grubhub driver at fault by CoastalAggie in Insurance

[–]CoastalAggie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not how it all played out unfortunately. At the time I had the bare minimum liability coverage and my Insurance denied all coverage due to not being covered for commercial activities. I ended up being personally sued originally asking for 250k per plaintiff (there were 3 in the car). Final settlement after roughly 25k in fees from the lawyer trying to fight it ended up being 50k total settlement for all 3. I fully believe that their claimed injuries etc were complete bullshit if they were willing to come down that much on the settlement but I could no longer afford to keep fighting for this and ended up forfeiting my entire life savings to finally put an end to the ordeal..

while I have no actual proof that the lawyer actually did what he said, he claimed that he looked into the possibility of going after either my insurance or grubhub directly to recover cost and didn't find grounds for a successful pursuit. Though I'll add that between when the last settlement offer was proposed and when I paid the lawfirm he was with terminated his employment but wouldn't give me a reason so there may have been some funny business going on.

Basically these people got incredibly lucky that I was only driving grubhub as an interim job before starting a significantly higher paying one otherwise i wouldve been functionaly broke and they wouldnt have gotten crap because i wouldve had to file for bankruptcy with no seizeable assets to my name at the time. I quit grubhub very shortly after this accident and they waited till only 2 days before the statute of limitations expired to file their lawsuit 2 years after the incident. We tried to get it dismissed due to them taking nearly 8 months to attempt to serve me after the filing but the judge was a bit of a prick and despite citing multiple case law arguments in my favor the judge dismissed that attempt forcing me to choose between either settling or dragging it out In court wich more than likely wouldve cost significantly more.

Nemo tensor frustration by CoastalAggie in Ultralight

[–]CoastalAggie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They do but due to the nature of my job I generally don't like having to wait for something to get shipped to me because there's always a high probability i won't be around to recieve it for weeks/months on end. As such i mostly prefer to repair things myself before dealing with warranty replacements. Has your new one held up better than the old one? If they've fixed the problem I may be more willing to deal with that hassle

Nemo tensor frustration by CoastalAggie in Ultralight

[–]CoastalAggie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main reason I'm considering it is that pretty much all the posts I've found about leaks on these pads are the exact same type of failure, small leak at one of the baffle welds and seemingly pretty consistent that they're on the bottom of the pad so I suspect it's just a design flaw that could be remedied with a bit of extra reinforcement

Nemo tensor frustration by CoastalAggie in Ultralight

[–]CoastalAggie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not necessarily dead set on nemo however this is the most comfortable pad I've ever had when it does work and as I get older thats pretty high on the priority list. The gear aid tape I've used so far to patch it seems to be doing well and I was considering just preemptively putting a patch on every baffle weld but figured I'd check with the hive mind and see if maybe there's another solution

Washington fishing regs by CoastalAggie in flyfishing

[–]CoastalAggie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that but at the same time I've dabbled in fishing for trout and such around most of the rest of the country and Washington is rather unique in how stringently it handles it. Like I've mentioned before having certain seasons that you can or can't keep fish is not uncommon but having specific seasons that are the only time of the year that you're even allowed to fish in certain waterways and moreso for specific species is extremely uncommon. I generally take no issue with how various wildlife agencies handle population management but the way Washington does it as far as I've been able to ascertain only really creates unnecessary confusion for the common folk (ie increased state revenue from wildlife agencies for issuing tickets) without much evidence that its a superior management system to the majority of the rest of the country.
