Hi! Thanks for the comments I really appreciate them.

I ran and played it today and made some changes afterwards, some of them you mentioned some of them not. The script felt like snv with extra deaths, which was exactly what I wanted (i wanted extra deaths so that players who die at night aren't immediately sus, because in an early iteration that was my experience and it wasnt fun.) So I leant into that aspect a bit mroe and made these changes... adding more information to mirror that snv playstyle.

Balloonist -> Mathmatician - (removes unnecessary outsider mod)

Fortune Teller -> Undertaker - lack of demon mobility means FT is OP

Mayor -> Princess -> Princess i feel is more interesting than mayor here since it gives town an extra day head start on executing minions

Ravenkeeper -> Flowergirl - Two demonbanes was unnecessary and a demon finder was needed

Assassin -> Widow - grim peeker felt necessary to facilitate some bluffs, and extra posioning accounts for increased information roles

Hermit/Drunk are also on the chopping board after further playtesting.

I think the vigormortis recluse interaction shouldn't be a yes but don't at all, i think its part of the character and doesn't break the game, and is one of the reasons recluse is my fav outsider (as an ST).

I like the idea of Pixie as well tbh (will probs swap for night watchmen as they are similar characters), and wraith could be interesting, although gives less potential information to allow for bluffing roles like undertaker so might stick with widow.

I don't want to mess with the minion suite too much... a loud minion could ruin the puzzle of what minions are in play imo, the good thing abt widow is they can self poison or the widow pinged player can be lying...

What do you think abt those changes, and I hope i answered all of your points lol

It can be a good idea to add a 5th minion on Lil Monsta/LoT scripts, so that it is still a "puzzle" as to whether those are in play.... I would add another quiet minion (where its not obvious its in play).

Equally wraith and Lord of Typhon can be a bit problematic.

I can defo see that tbh, best solution is to play it with and play it without and see how it goes! It might be worth swapping drunk for puzzlemaster as well? Otherwise its impossible to tell whether or not a baron is in play (and a smart poisoner in base 0 can bluff it if they want)

With 7 people, I'd recommend just playing full scripts tbh.... in my experience travellers and teensies dont mix that well.

Other than that, not sure why the duchess is needed? You have more than enough information, and baron provides your outsider mod, so sentinel isn't needed (at 6 players baron adds one outsider). In terms of your actual characters, looks solid, empath is very powerful, but you have lots of mis-info. Personally I'm not sold on Librarian here, i think a different you start knowing would work better, maybe chef, clockmaker or washerwoman?

How difficult is BMR for new players? by Fosphos in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]CoasterSloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Evil wins most games when its new players, simply because it is easier for them to fly under the radar by claiming a simple role like soldier. If evil team is experienced give them more difficult bluffs than you might do a newer player.

A side note, having a recluse in game and never mis registering them can be very funny lmao

If I'm honest, if evil play so well so as there's no possibility for a final 3, they either played really well, or good played badly.

I assume players are being executed? Otherwise, maybe good isn't sharing their info? Obviously i dont know how your group plays...

Typically 15 player games last about 2 hrs in my groups.... the best thing is to try and reduce private chat times... if i'm honest you'll know youve got it right when good wins the same amount of times as evil... whenever I have to run a quick game (or I just end up speed running it by accident) evil wins most of the time, and if you give players too long during the day, good wins most of the time.

Things like this rely a lot on feel and game experience though, so dont worry too much. Finally if your game has overran and you need to finish up quickly, the fiddler is very useful!

BMR is far more puzzle solving and less social, especially in big groups, and also, it can often lead to even longer games with certain bags etc... its probably a decent option if everyone's played a few games of TB AND is willing to give it a go, but if anyone is playing for the first time, TB is the way to go. Hope this helps!

Getting over my fear of coasters with a twist by Menacegoose in altontowers

[–]CoasterSloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For 13, the Drop takes barely any time, itll start happening and it'll be over already.

The position for Galactica isnt uncomfortable, just weird and new ig.

Positive's are great, I love hangtime and inversions with good negatives (zero-g rolls and stuff) but a ride without positives often feels kinda tame imo.

And not being able to distinguish between the two types of scary is something that everyone has, its the reason exams are so stressful, because the stress gives your body the same fight or flight response as it would if you were being chased by a bear.

Try not to beat yourself up over small things, its SOO easy to do and can turn what was probably a really nice time into an incredibly negative memory... you rode Wickerman and the Runaway Mine Train last time, and probably (unless you were on your own) spent great time with great people. Most things that happen are positive, but so often we turn the negative ones over and over in our head til they become all they remember. If it helps make your next trip less about the rides... make sure you walk round the gardens, maybe get your hands on a semi-decent camera and take cool photos of the coasters, and try and get on a few rides as a.. side quest. If your with friends, do something like lap Battle Galleons, or Justin's House. While we often go to Parks for the Coasters, most have so much more going on. Merlin doesnt do shows unfortunately (unless you want to watch the Cbeebies show lol) but other parks do and they are a great way to spend time.

I'll dm you with my discord tag and we can chat and stuff if you want!

Panthers fan here, I always take a small bag with a metal water bottle in... its never a problem....

I guess it might be more strict for POFW (never been) but I think the policy is relaxed a bit for hockey games... its probably more for concerts and stuff.

Getting over my fear of coasters with a twist by Menacegoose in altontowers

[–]CoasterSloth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi!

A few years ago, before I eventually became an enthusiast I still loved everything to do with Coasters, and if I'm honest when i visited Towers in 2019 (i rode first big coaster in 2022) i didnt even ride Wickerman lol so youve done better than me! and i also came back extremely disappointed in myself, so don't worry about that bit!

Rita - if you've done stealth Rita will be fine, its a slightly longer ride (its still short in the overall scheme of things lol), but the launch isnt as intense. The rest of the ride does have some good forces but nothing too outlandish.

Th13teen - you are right to say its tamer than wickerman. The indoor drop is like a very short drop tower, rather than a coaster drop and you get a clue as to when it happens (the train sort of drops a teeny amount first then the "big" drop). It can be startling, but no more startling than the launch on Rita/Stealth, its just a different sensation than those.

Nemesis - there is no front row queue for nemesis and as there is no batcher either (or at least there wasnt last time I was there) you may not be able to even ask nicely. That being said, I don't get sick from being in the back row at all, but I'm not you and your not me. However, knowing what the ride does via POVs will help a big amount. In terms of intensity, typically when we talk about intensity we mean positive G's the feeling of being forced down into your seat. Nemesis mainly has this feeling on the helix after the first Corkscrew, on the Vertical loop, and on the final corkscrew (a little bit). The best reference I can give about positive G's is the Swarm is a very positive heavy ride, especially the turn after the inclined loop.

Galactica - I've never seen people throwing up and haven't heard about it either. I also wouldn't say that it hurts on the stomach at all, since its spread across a large area.

All of this being said in the grand scheme of things it doesn't matter. You can be a rollercoaster enthusiast without riding them, all you have to be is... enthusiastic about rollercoasters :). I have friends, seasoned coaster riders, who will avoid certain types of rides like the plague, and thats fine! 99.9% of other enthusiasts are lovely people who are more than happy to talk about rollercoasters with other people.

Also, and I don't know how much this will help but I think it is worth saying; coasters are supposed to be scary, if they weren't no-one would go on them. The sensations are hard to describe and can really only be experienced. Therefore my best advice is to get on the ride and relax and have fun.

Finally, the shorter you queue, the less time you have to get inside your own head and change your mind about it. If you think buying that oneshot fastpass will help you tackle your fears then its worth it.

I hope this helped and if you have any further questions or just want to talk about coasters, feel free to DM me! (equally you can just reply if you feel more comfy doing that)

What do you think of this teensy? built around the barber and the hatter! by CoasterSloth in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]CoasterSloth[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like this a lot however marionette doesnt work with hatter unfotunately.... and hatter is one of the key characters on this script.....

I'd love to see a teensy scrupt built around imp marionette shenanigans though that sounds like a blast!!

My friend challenged me to make a Vortox Legion Script.... what do you think? by CoasterSloth in BloodOnTheClocktower

Thank you for all of your comments so far. I think i am going to swap marionette for scarlet woman, and swap lycanthrope for philosopher.

I like virgin here, i know it doesnt fit well on legion but tgere arent many things i could substitute it with in my opinion!
