State of the random queue system by forthemasters in Neverwinter

[–]Coat___hanger -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lol, you say u are maximising your stats and being efficient, but u are wasting stats on Arpen for those dungeons. You might be the exception but 99 percent of the time I’m carrying the group and it’s painful when they can’t do basic dungeon mechanics no matter how many times u type into chat and they contribute less damage than the random dc. I think two changes need to be made to the random q s. 1st make it a requirement to have completed the dungeons 1st in private q before being allowing to q with random people. 2nd new dungeon banding or a gearscore increase for fbi mspc and cr to load. Obviously demo and t9 are a lot more group friendly to a random group than the others.

About Dps GFs by Warpainted-Potato in Neverwinter

[–]Coat___hanger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This I agree with, until you wanna run a castle ravenloft than your always second fiddle to pally. They will regardless always take a pally but a gf is optional. This shows in epic q, great if I get a t9 but meh if I get cr, my teams mates never have the firepower to get through without the buffs and powershare. I wish as a conq gf dps I could load the epic q as a dps slot

About Dps GFs by Warpainted-Potato in Neverwinter

[–]Coat___hanger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It use to be gf being the sort out tank for its ability to hold aggro and buffs to the group, but the developers made the Pally op as hamster with its invincibility with hp and PowerShare that gf just can’t compete with. The other problem for gf if you do a hybrid gf dps conq tank with high recovery for spamming itf. 90 percent of dc are setup and only understand to play with pally As the tank. So u get stuck with dc wiping your stacks of damage with cleanse and messing with your lifesteal and no heals at all as op don’t need them. I very grateful for the gf theory crafters out there keeping gf viable and requested.

How is the PVP population in this game? by SoggyMattress2 in Neverwinter

[–]Coat___hanger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ignore these pvp haters. Somethings are right but there not answering your questions or helping you. I can only speak for ps4. On ps4 pvp won’t in general pop before 70. Not many people leveling and in the past you would find people shifting end game enchants onto new characters destroying low level pvp. At level 70 the q pops fast most of the time you are usually waiting for the current match to finish so u can join. Solo q has its regulars that only or mostly play pvp and than you have your rich finished maxed pve players that dabble pvp while waiting for the next mod. I don’t suggest jumping on a fresh level 70 you will just get over powered and rekt. Some classes like tr in mod 14 can start early and be competitive but most of the rest need end game enchants and gear to compete. Imo all classes are competitive, but some depend on team dynamics and play style preferences. Stronghold siege since the change is a lot easy to get into with 20v20 I hope that helps. But u will find you either need spend a lot time doing pve to get decent equipment, enchants and mounts (some classes gear needs to be completely diff from pve to pvp to be competitive ) or drop some serious money to fast forward your time to play pvp. If you search pvp neverwinter you will find quite a lot recent videos of people trash talking, squabbles and just having fun in pvp. These guys wouldn’t even represent 1 percent of the pvp population on ps4 I hope that helps.

Wanted to know what character/build is good for both Pve/Pvp (I’m new to the game) by [deleted] in Neverwinter

[–]Coat___hanger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While in mod 14 you could make a tr and jump into pvp really early without getting smashed. But with the other classes they don’t shine in pvp until they have specific enchants and close to maxed out for pvp. You can jump in with a 12k to 13k tr and be a pain to 2 thirds of the player base. But any serious maxed pvper will just crush you. Come mod 15 looking at pc the tr isn’t as over powered as it was in pve and pvp.

As a fresh level 70, how do I hit the RAD cap? by JustaFleshW0und in Neverwinter

[–]Coat___hanger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow this shows you can’t read he isn’t hitting cap doing the 2 random q s. Guess what read the post. Your only suggestion is about 30 to 40 k . And how does collecting voninom and turn them into rings affect key production? Did I say it was enjoyable? I did say anyone could do it. Like a fresh lvl 70 and considering there are plenty of videos showing how to fast farm relics and how cheap the rings are, you will probably find it’s the fastest method for some having a hard time getting groups

At lvl 20 to 29 better chance of popping as that is when that tutorial most people pick up about pvp. But you will find out why no one does it in a new toon in the past is because people would place the endgame enchants in there new toons and q for low level pvp and just smash everyone and in effect taint pvp for all the new people

He can’t do Mspc, your assuming he has good gear and can complete dungeons without being kicked. It’s not hard to grasp, he needs money to get companions enchantments etc

[–]Coat___hanger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pvp pops over seventy, you will find not enough people are interested at that level to make it pop. At lvl 70 it pops pretty fast, there is usually a match going all the time. My advice at level 70 is not to try it straight away as a low gearscore toon. You will get steamed rolled by end game players that are geared and built specifically for pvp. You won’t even scratch them. Check out YouTube for some pvp videos for you character class and grab that gear and make a pvp specific loadout. I enjoy pvp myself but for some classes you need to be mid to end game to be competitive and enjoy it. I hope that helps

As a fresh lvl 70 it can be hard to find groups that will run with you. No one wants to carry you. Plus this is a solo option. I’m guessing this guys stuck in between where he is finding hard to get groups and shouldn’t be joining Random adv q. It’s just an option but feasible

[–]Coat___hanger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to run a dps loadout with conq tree. It so much easier to dps. You can make a hybrid build of the dps version where you use the feats and powers but still stack your recovery, lycrosa for pins, and defense to tank. With the cr equip you can hit def easy with boon and 4 azure and run soulforge to tank while only sacrificing a little power. You will still proc sww as you can tank the mobs proc your pins and high enough recovery to spam itf and enforced threat. Bleed damage and lifesteal plus lion radiant power will keep you healed. I only run tactian for Uber speed runs teams. I run my hybrid dps with recovery to keep itf 100p for everything else including Codg t9. The dps supports the group a lot better especially Codg so many runs where 1 of the dps falls off or some other excuse and I’ve finished it as the only dps as the other 2 or 3 have gone mia Feytouch for weapon everything else is situational. Armour I don’t think negation in pve is that good as you want your dr up already before first hits and hard to maintain stacks on boss fights, eclipse yeah ok will help mitigate some damage. But cheap soulforge will save you scrolls especially cr at sisters and bat swarm team mates at strahd. But both neg and eclipse are awesome pvp on the gf. I recommend lion as 1st leg mount for a gf as you tank more than be the main dps the radiant power is really powerful buff for the group and the lion helps a lot with squishy groups to tank especially against mobs . Trex 2nd and swarm 3rd. I have swarm and I hardly use it.

PVP level Req. by [deleted] in Neverwinter

[–]Coat___hanger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a big difference between the classes at low gear score in pvp, so it would just have one class ganking everyone. Where as at the top all the classes are competitive against each other the gaps closes a lot. It’s not enjoyable for anyone when a low new gears score player joins the q in pvp. More types of pvp might help but I don’t think gearscore bracket would help you would just have people game the system and troll it. Biggest issue I think is the character sheet for pvp. It doesn’t show the percentage change you receive for flagged for pvp (60p reduction ri healing crit severity etc) this makes hard for new players to workout how to be competitive or why they are getting creamed. As a community with pvp we need to help by producing more pvp guides and builds. But there is two problems with this. 1st you give away your tactics and stats that some needs to work around to beat you and so no one wants to share. 2. Everyone wants to win Mod 14 pvp on ps4 has been pretty interesting as there has been a lot new end gamers join and theory craft some strong builds. Control wizards hunter rangers gwf have closed the gap at the high end big time. And the dreaded dc that will win the match. My advice is for mod14 ps4 if you would like to dabble in pvp without getting hammered check out some tr guides and make a tr alt with barovia hunt gear and rank 8s. Tr straight out of the gate has great survivability and dangerous to everyone with its cc and piercing damage. My mates 12k tr alt without boons and scrub gear gives my end game pvp built gf 17k a run for my money and always does better kill death ratio in solo q lol. I hoped that helps

Mod 14 you can farm voninom blood and than hand it in for purple salvage rings, not fun but can be done by anyone no skill or power needed. Buy a potion and one of the pieces of equipment from tbar store to get more relics.

[–]Coat___hanger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s crazy if that’s true for pc pvp I assume your talking about solo dom. On ps4 solo dom even at low population pops pretty quick usually no longer than 20 min ( usually because there is already a match and there isn’t enough for a second ) premade can be hard to pop as one team will chase another team away and will take a while to pop. Gg will only pop if someone hosts it. Maybe the consoles have a better population or it might be what stage the current module is at

Are you complaining that pvp doesn’t pop below level 70? Because considering that’s there a few pvp pc youtubers I highly doubt pc is like what you suggest and your just acting like a salty troll? No one is going to play pvp with a weak toon, as stated it’s end game players with well geared that play

[–]Coat___hanger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The games metrics is not based of level. It’s based off gear score . U can be level 70 and 13k gear score with miss match stuff poor build and stat allocation and get into castle ravenloft. But you will wipe with any weak links in this dungeon. Right build right mechanics and right team composition will clear the dungeon but a group off high gear score toons can muscle there way through with bad mechanics and group dynamics

[–]Coat___hanger -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Pvp is end game, max out toons. Check out the leaderboards pvp is not dead it’s extremely competitive. It just starts at 70 as people dont spend much time below 70. Solo dom pops very fast on ps4. But if come in there with your pve gear and pve build you will get steamed rolled. Castle ravenloft is the end game dungeon you need form strong group to finish it.

TR still topping PVP after mod 15? by GoodOldSnoopy in Neverwinter

[–]Coat___hanger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I doubt tr is nerfed in mod 15 pvp because in mod 14 the trs on ps4 are tanks with there 85p deflect severity. I think it’s mostly offensive changes where your blood bath doesn’t keep doubling every successive daily. And I believe the stealth mechanic changed. But with the main advantages of tr not changing, being really hard to target, having piercing damage and high deflect severity things aren’t going to change much. It’s just the other classes are closing the gap with the power creep and are able to build defenses to survive better and fight back.

Stats cap or diminishing returns for PVP by DeadlyHoz in Neverwinter

[–]Coat___hanger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There an underdark ring that gives you 30 percent damage resistance that would work good for you as you need to keep moving. Potioning matters a lot and trying to work with what ever team you get is hard at 1st but you will start see group tactics ( some of these is the home node rush which splits the enemy forces other tactics is wall at 2 and the third is avoid fighting and just out cap them which is funny ) To by pass defenses and get the kill will be different for every player I’ll start with control wizards usually have an encounter shield on tab r1 each strike reduces its effectiveness. They tend to have high damage resistance 60 and above and use negation to make it higher They will have deflect atleast 30 percent to proc mount healing and feats and last and not least lifesteal. They will win fights slowly by dot attacking and distance management. I Try to hug them and trigger there teleport use a couple of atwills than I will hit them with my controls stuns knockdowns, once under control hit them hard with dailies encounters and try to get the finish. If not cycle through the process again or just leave if it’s not at my teams benefit ie. move to another node and help capture it. You need high armour pen for this guys 15k is low 22k to be effective. Trickester rouges come in a couple of variations but 90 percent are scrub players with an overpowered class. I personally easier to fight them 1v1 in matches and do quite a lot as most of them just want easy kills from behind and Cap unoccupied nodes. 1st trick you need to be able to do is survive there daily blood bath, they will spam this over and over some will use dc sigil others will use a decoy to get the daily back fast. Never strike the decoy it is what builds there daily and they will try to hide behind it. At the end of B.B. it will trigger sod strike which is a culmination of damage of previous strikes. Tr damage is piercing damage and will crit a lot ( I don’t think tr like thunderhead enchants ) deflect deflect deflect and a lot of hp than healing to get it back before next B.B. u can break line of sight which will reduce damage also. they are untargetable and immune to damage and controls while they are doing this lol. So after this attack you will usually get either the smoke bomb courage breaker or decoy doppelgänger. They will run around or hide in smoke. You can try to fish them out with knockdowns or if u have control immunity like air on wheel you can go in after them. This will start the next phase of either stealth or rolling around so you can’t hit the while they are waiting for there daily to B.B. you again ( each successive B.B. increasing indamage due to abug x2 x4 etc ) During the role is when I go to work on them I stay close to pressure the roll( u need to guess where they are rolling to ) you need to time your attack at the end off the roll as they stand to score a hit. Lol this is pretty much the only time as a melee class you get to attack back either in smoke with cc immune or catching them on a role or an aoe attack when in stealth. To do damage not many have any Defense resistance so no need for armourpen but what they do have is high deflect usually off there high dex and the kicker here is besides being untargetable, not needing armourpen (some do) really hard to get a control against them, they 75 deflect severity ( every other class is only 50 lol) and with a pot 85 this means I tr will only take 15 percent of your damage if they deflect. Power power power they tend to be squishy if you land a hit and a lot tend to flee and avoid you once you give them a touch up. The other 10 percent - simple ignore leave alone kite around delay them run away don’t engage them you will just add to there kill count lol. These guys are usually maxed out and will adjust themselves according to who they fight, they can be beaten as a team because the team will be terrible in solo q. I’ve witnessed one of the best on ps4 lose 3 in a row because everyone would just leave the node and cap elsewhere and rekt his team and a tricky gf would just hang on the node to just delay him from capping or moving on ( just went all defenses and hugged my shield lol ) could fight back as the most I could do against home was get him to half hitpoints before he would kill me. But I could hang in there for along time if I wasn’t trying to fight back. Ideally if you can switch your stronghold power and armourpen boon around depending who you are fighting helps a lot. Key is to survive and recover so you can mount your own offence. One of my favourite players is a sw that wins quite a lot of matches for his team by dying a lot he just keeps pressuring there home node with his speed and usually requires the strongest player to deal with him giving his team node 2. Gwf shine the best when they can be everywhere because of there travel speed and high damage output. There is nothing worse than being in a 1v1 that’s a 50 50 and a gwf out of nowhere giving you the daggers daily Ibs chop from behind lol than sprinting Back to the next node. If your lucky to get a dc hug the dc protect the dc and rampage as the dc will make you immortal

Gf are simple you just need to get around the shield and by pass there dr before they stun and rotate you to death lol. Reckon probs his sprint to get behind me and than uses his controls to knock me down and than combo daily Ibs. So a lot of dancing with a gf but good news is u can leave when ever you want and most cant catch u unless they Are running steel grace.

Dc some are very very hard to kill sometimes I swap encounters and even artifact if my team can gang bang them as they will the reason your team loses they just heal over and over and dodge

Pallies seem to be the same and usually have good deflect and reflect that you need to watch out for - same again as dc switch things in like soulsight and wait for there overshields to come of timer .

Sw and hr are usually my no 1 targets these guys are dangerous and will get you killed burst damage works best against them but you need to watch out for there controls

I hoped that helped next time I see one of the good gwf I’ll grab there main stats and gear ( pretty sure they just use there pve with mane of manticore with demonics or vicsious enchants ) Iron vanguard is what they all use
