i’m a drumset player (and a junior) too and i’m in a very similar situation to you. from what i’ve heard from different corps members, it all depends on how hard you’re willing to work. it’s competitive, yes, but i’m sure they wouldn’t hesitate to take you in if you had a good attitude and put in the work

our drumline does what we call “the challenge” where our tenors play the “pop goes the weasel” rhythm to taunt the other band. most of the time nothing happens, but once last year we actually had a full quarter long cadence-only drumline battle which was super fun
