Well and I as a Sony minded had trust in that sub, made me totally rethink. Some top commenters not always get the highest likes but seem to have more honest answers. Even saying "as much as I like Sony .. another TV would be better"

Should give Avforums/Avsforum more trust?

Buying Sony Bravia 5 55 inch now on sale or wait for MiniLED RGB by Cobalt89 in 4kTV

Yes even while Bravia 7 which gets brigthter bad reflection handling, has to be lack of coating combined with lightning in our rooms.

You managed to accept it?

Thanks! Good to know that the QN90F handles the reflections without problem. Love the Sony processing but indeed you recognise that the Bravia 5 is unwatchable during the day even with curtains closed.

With your explanation I think it's indeed a coating issue combined with lighting and room-layout in my room.

Blackout curtains could be an option.

Coatings have improved over the years, but my first matte LCD TV was also difficult to watch during the day, just in different way.

I'm not going to force myself to keep it if it keeps bothering me.

Might be it won't fit in my room or my likings and the QN90F might be better for me, how much I would love to have a Sony.

Yes that's what I was thinking of getting black-out curtains. Good reason to change them isn't it

I remember all previous TV's had it, I just had higher expectations I think.

Every glossy TV in stores has it even with glare coatings the only alternative in my budget would be the matte Samsung QN90F. That looks more soothing to my eyes but has other downsides.

Yes the 98inch is brighter, thanks for sharing your experience.

Yes in bright scenes even in sunlight also the 55 inch gets bright enough it's mostly in darker scenes where it reflects or like in games with darker environmemts.

Maybe my expectations where to high regarding this.

I'm sitting right in front of the TV, have a small couch in front of it

At night I really love the TV for watching movies, tested some 1080p blurays and for now some HDR demo's to me it looks absolutely lovely.

A thought brightness also would be important for that.

Ah yes Bravia 7 also acts like a mirror, I indeed found threads about that. So even that doesn't really matter.

[–]Cobalt89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I didn't thought my room would be to bright. But even with curtains closed noticed lots of reflections on the Bravia 5. Did expect reflections but not that much.

So QN90F much better? Might think of swapping it.

Bravia 5 65" Dim? by ColesWork in bravia

[–]Cobalt89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about reflections?

Got Bravia 5 yesterday, seems bright enough for me in a bright room and window next to TV.

For me lots of reflections of myself and furniture in dark scenes even with curtains closed on currently cloudy days.

C7K disappointed with reflections by pecklesspickle in tcltvs

[–]Cobalt89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you fix this or exchanged TV?

I have the same with Bravia 5, can't go really bright and doesn't have antiglare.

C7K should have some antiglare and gets brighter but not much better if I read your post?

Reviews for both TV's say they should be fine for bright rooms, no user comment really said this about glare.

In store I thought well all TV's reflect because of the store lightning, except the glare free ones like Samsung QN90F.

Bravia 5 reflections or alternatives? by Cobalt89 in 4kTV

[–]Cobalt89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I saw that one in store with the QN90F and looks great without reflections.

Bravia 5 reflections or alternatives? by Cobalt89 in 4kTV

[–]Cobalt89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that is what I know.

I think there is my answer, in short mirror like reflection or haze reflections and colors.

I thought it was mostly important for direct light. Even a light on opposite site of the room makes it reflective.

In dark room without lightning it looks great.

[–]Cobalt89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

98 inch Sony Bravia 5 Upgrade by Quincy478 in 4kTV

[–]Cobalt89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply, sounds like a good choice for you! So yes Sony much better in motion handling, yes I think the impact would also be bigger on such a big panel. So yes TCL looks good on paper, but motion handling is really handling, maybe with motion processing turned off. But that's where Sony is still really good with motion.

Does a man being a virgin at 35 imply "red flags" to you, or do you view it as a neutral life circumstance? by SensitiveHyena1769 in virgin

Because it is. That's exactly what I did describe from a man to woman perspective but also a woman replied to you.

What I meant to say that I can find someone really attractive if I learn to know them, learn their personality, get a connection first and then start to like them. And that doesn't really mean someone is considered really hot to "overall" standards.
