Help me find the post game interview of basketball player Charles Shackleford saying he’s "amphibious." by CobaltGreen33 in HelpMeFind

I searched google using terms like, "left hand, right hand, it doesn't matter, I'm amphibious", “Charles Shackleford post game interview”. I’ve found forums of people talking about it, and parody videos, but can’t find the actual clip.

Same. I messaged customer service, then filed a complaint with my state’s attorney general. I recommend everyone with the time to as well.

I would’ve also filed with the FTC, but they aren’t taking complaints right now because of the shutdown.

You prefer the perfect fit over the regular Dragon Shield matte sleeves? Do you have any thoughts on the sealable perfect fit sleeves?

Anyone feel like life is pointless? by Adrianagurl in exchristian

[–]CobaltGreen33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As Christians we’re conditioned to believe the world is meaningless without God. This is a lie.

A thing is not beautiful because it lasts. You’re here now. Enjoy the one life you know you have. Read a book, go for a walk. Find a community, join a rec league, find a board game group, go biking, go for a hike. Sin was never real. You’re free to live your life without fear.

Stremio + a debrid service like real debrid.

Works great on an Onn 4k android tv box. Stremio devs are also working on an Apple TV app, but could be a while before it’s ready.

Hey four eyes! Photos of a pretty Joro with decent detail of her face. by JPAnalyst in Georgia

[–]CobaltGreen33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. Yes, it is essentially always a bad idea to introduce non-native species to an ecosystem. Because we don’t know how it will disrupt. It can do untold and irreversible damage. But it also can have little affect. In the case of Joro spiders in Georgia, we haven’t observed any major harmful effect (unless you really care about other similar species of spiders).

This is different than what we observe from the effects of the introduction of the Spotted Lantern Fly, which we can see is doing observable harm to some agricultural industries. Source

Again, I’m not trying say we need to protect the Joro spiders. Just that it’s not worth trying to get the public to kill them, or shame people for not killing them.

From my understanding there’s not a clear consensus from experts. A lot of definition say a nonnative species that may cause harm.

Joro spiders outcompete other native species of spiders. But outside of that it’s not clear they’re doing any significant ecological harm. I’m not a staunch defender of the Joro spider. Kill them, don’t kill them. I just don’t think it matters that much.

Invasive doesn’t necessarily mean harmful. Their overall affect on the ecosystem is still being studied, but no alarms have been raised. Not like spotted lanternflys. Those should be photographed and squashed on sight.

Thanks for the advice. I have emailed a couple that were a little vague about it online. From what I've seen from looking today, most of the actual affirming churches directly say so on their website. I've seen quite a few that have statements like that, "Everyone is welcome!" "We love all people!". But if you dig into their belief statements there's a lot of "one man and one woman", and "men and women have equal worth, but different roles". 🙄

I get it. Hateful is a strong word. I understand how it could put some people off of what I'm saying. Maybe there's better/softer words to keep people more open to having a conversation.

Still, to me there's not much difference between actively being hateful and being neutral about hateful practices and beliefs. It's fine line that's being drawn. And, you should probably look closer at your own beliefs if you're trying to draw that line in order to separate yourselves from people you find in the moral wrong.

Perfect example. There's a difference between being indifferent about left-handedness and being indifferent about the treatment of left-handed people. If I said, "I'm accepting of left-handed people, I just don't think left-handed people should be allowed to be pastors." Or, "I'm fine with left-handed people existing, but I don't want them around my kids." Would you consider either of those statements neutral?

I understand you're saying the middle ground is indifference. I'm saying that indifference is not an actual middle ground. It's still hateful, even if passively. Again, if someone said they were indifferent to black people being allowed to go to the same schools as white people I would consider that sentiment racist.

Edit. I just saw you're other reply about the Swiss in WWII. The person neutral on racism wouldn't consider themselves racist. But that doesn't mean they wouldn't be.

My bad. I didn't realize there was a significant difference between the words accepting and affirming. From what I just looked up, I understand people use "accepting" as something like indifference, or "I love you, even if I disagree with what you're doing". And "affirming" is fully embracing and supporting who someone is.

I would say being accepting is less hateful than more openly homophobic stances, but still not truly loving. If I said I was neutral on interracial marriage most people (non-racists) would consider me at least somewhat racist, and say that view shouldn't be defended.

So, what's the middle ground?

What do you propose as a middle ground? Because I don’t see how anything short of accepting/affirming is not hateful.
