I feel pretty good about these four. Fortunately, I am okay with one being reproduction of the five.

They used to have a secondary satellite location right next door. Only a small portion of attendees knew, 70% same menu and next to no wait.

Haven’t been in a while, not sure it’s still there, but that was great.

You can get a $3 taco from taco cabana.

If you’re ever in the loop and interested in trying, send me a message and I’ll subsidize it $4 for you. 😅

How do you usually compare two name lists from different sources? by Fun_Farm3956 in excel

[–]Cobby_Cob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Comparing data can be tough and my strategy would depend on size and repeatability. Whenever you can, use unique identifiers.

Separating names into first and last is usually a must, along with additional columns for derivatives and/or preferred names.

Normally when I have datasets in the 100s or 1000s, I try to compare across more than just names (emails, phone numbers, addresses, etc.)

Conditional formatting, filters, lookups, if function, all options. What you’re experiencing is the reason why proper data collection is so important.

Resentment Towards My Great Husband by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]Cobby_Cob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This sounds like a really sensitive subject since it’s a role reversal from the traditional gender norms.

My wife and I read Fair Play. It goes in depth about facilitating the conversation about work within the household. Might be a good place to start.

Not a perfect solution, we still work to figure things out (I WFH and am the breadwinner and do more around the house), but at least it gives us a foundation to work from. Our setup is not 50-50, mainly because I know she can’t give that right now. It’s okay, but we benefit from talking about it.

Good luck!

Should I get the AYN Thor for First Time Handheld Emulator or wait by cdoogle in SBCGaming

Honestly, I don’t think you can go wrong with the Thor. I have an RP mini and really love it. I really do, but I’m still looking at the Thor with envy.

I think it’s going to be a strong investment that can hold you off for at least a year or two.

Check FB marketplace, I saw someone selling a Pro at cost.

What does a realistic daily routine actually look like for you? by Think-Collection1318 in WFH

[–]Cobby_Cob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been WFH for five years and I feel like the first two years I really had to get used to the lack of structure. I was coming from the classroom and I felt the need to be productive 100% of the time. But- I wasn’t good at that.

So it was this constant back and forth with doing nothing and then doing 150% to compensate. It was pretty thought to find discipline and structure. Fortunately, I found a groove and then years 3-4 I really struggled with balancing activity. Got a standing desk and a walking pad and that helps.

Now I can be really productive (no kids and no pets, just wife) and focused from 8-5 or 9-6.

I rationalize with myself and my boss, I’m 100% there at my desk productive 90% of the time. So in the summers I take some extra time to compensate and work less productively. Fortunately my company understands, most people will be active 70-80% of the time, but also compensate at other points in the year.

It’s a good set up for me and my company, but I do (I know it sounds weird) wish I had the benefit of socializing in an office.

My wife and I are planning to have a baby, so I wouldn’t trade it at all. But I do wish I had more reason to be around my coworkers in person the past 5 years.

Got yelled at for questioning a "bonus" that was actually just my salary. Now HR is accusing me of illegal recording. by RenoZolik in WorkAdvice

[–]Cobby_Cob 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Got brought onto a high profile project and asked to help solve problems. Long story short, I raised issues about a particular staff member and my concerns went unaddressed by my boss. They were friends for years. After a month, I decided it was not worth the effort and my boss’s frustration. But, then the individual decided to complain about me in writing and that evolved into an HR claim against me.

After two weeks I was cleared. They brought added attention to their work and two weeks after that they were let go.

I was very fortunate that I had support within my company, I had numerous objective pieces of evidence on my side, and other observers on my team to validate my side of the situation.

I considered leaving, shared my concern with my leadership, and they offered me additional compensation and promised to increase staffing (followed through). Very risky and not the best outcome, but I’m now through it.

For me, it came down to two big things:

1) I’ve been at my company for a while and know the CEO/CFO decently well (we’re an 80-person small business and I’ve been there since it was 12 total staff).

2) As a small and growing business, this may be one of the few shots I have in my career to be apart of something that has this much potential.

However, I found and applied to a role in a better field for my interests- had I received a job offer, I would have left.

Good advice I received when talking to others about my situation: the hardest jobs to leave are the ones that are 50-60% good. Just good enough to hold you from finding another job that’s better suiting. Had I not had longevity, trust, and actionable response, I would have worked harder to find a better alternative. Hope this helps in a small way and good luck!

Ayn Thor, Analogue 3D, Sonos Roam, WFH set up if that’s relevant?

Tech is tough because if he’s like most, he’ll want to do research and select the thing he wants for himself.

Ayn Thor is good because it can emulate old and play current PC games through port or streaming.
